Oil Leak?

My car has been leaking oil for a while, I finally got it checked out and supposedly, the oil pump is leaking. Anyone else have this problem? I've searched only for an actual oil pump and I'm having the worst luck find one.

Re: Oil Leak?

The mechanic told me I need specifically an "oil sending unit" which I assumed was an oil pump, but from the looks of it, the sending unit may be different, considering that a search for an oil pump alot of the times brings up the entire assembly and things of the like.

Oh the oil sending unit. You said oil pump so I was like ~_~ Those are very hard to find, and if you find one, they'll tend to cost you a good penny.

Re: Oil Leak?

I can't say I had ever heard of the "oil sending unit." Guess I learned something new today. Check for parts out and the FS/WTB/WTT section of the forum. Also, there is a group on Facebook called Prelude parts….search it, join it, and Im sure you'll find what you're looking for. People post stuff there several times in a day, so the part you're looking for is bound to show up sometime.

Re: Oil Leak?

Hmmm..... Thanks for the help guys. Would the "oil sending unit" be the same as the "oil pressure sending unit"?

I was told they're the same thing, people just call it one or the other.
