Edit:: Why is my thread in the 5th gen forum? I could have swore I clicked 4th gen-- Mods please move :) thank you.

Finally have a lil free time to work on Athena (the lude).. Since im a college student and on a basketball scholarship, i hardly have any free time to do anything for myself.. These last few months since august, has been killin me because i want to work on my car soo bad!..

So finally came a solution!!

One of my teammates the other day came up to me and asked if i heard of this new product called plast dip (all my teammates know i love my car, i talk about all the time..) but anyways i said no, and he told me what all you can do with it.. i was amazed! so after prac i went to my dorm and went on the comp to do more research..

i was astonished by how easy it is and how it can withstand hard/extreme conditions (you can wash it if it gets dirty, it can last at 200 degrees F and -30 degrees F, very durable and doesnt scratch anything if you decide to peel it off!).. not to mention how amazing it is as well..

I wanted have white rims for a very long time.. (the first time i saw it on a lude was when i saw a picture of a slammed black lude on some white wheels -- not sure what they were, they had 6 spokes tho -- IT LOOKED SEXY!) Well, since that day i want my lude to look like that lol.. So now plasti dip has came in my life, and guess what....???

Yep!! Gonna Plasti-Dip my stock Si rims white hehe ;) (im in the process now) what could go wrong right!? If i dont like it, i could peel it right off :)

Seems like all youtube people are doin it (on their rims) and have great results..

If you havent heard about this, Look it up! Its great!

Did the rear two:

In the peeling process :)

All done with the rear :)

Turned out pretty well ;)

Ran out of plasti dip LOL the store i bought it from (ACE) ran out, so i gotta wait till tuesday when its back in stock... or i can drive 30 min to another city (Norman, Ok) and get them there.. im thinkin bout drivin LOL

Re: Plasti Dipin my rims :)

Not a big fan of plasti-dip. When I had my 2nd gen TSX, I found that a lot of ppl with TSX's did it, and it made the car look a lot cheaper. The Prelude can look pretty cheap on its own, depending on its condition.

Does it work? Sure. Does it do wonders? That's debatable...

My two cents...

Re: Plasti Dipin my rims :)

Love the color choice! I got a can of white Plasti Dip a couple weeks ago and went a little crazy with it lol. It's like a risk-free way to try out paint ideas. Spray it on THICK though because otherwise it can be a bitch to remove.

Some people have even been using it as a primer before spraying wheel paint to make a removable painted finish. Might be worth a try for people who don't like commitment.

Might as well! Worry free!! Mess up? Just wait till it dries, then peel it right off :)

Looks good man!! how does it hold up when you put them back on the car? I know when I painted my rims I had to be really careful to not mess the paint up, but did anyway lol.
