clacking noise on the lower left side of block

i was driving down the road the oil light turned on then this crazy noise cam out from the block. motor has oil now but still making the crazy freaking sound cant drive it. what can it be a bearing? thats what im guessing. its snowing out so i really cant do much i was going to ripe apart the lower block just to see. car starts up fine with no problem dont think it can be a dropped valve.

Re: clacking noise on the lower left side of block

You spun a bearing due to low oil. Happens all the time on these engines. Time to either start looking for a new engine (or car), or start looking for machine shops to do the engine work.

Drain the oil, and see if you see any metal shavings/debris in the oil. If so.... time to start ripping shiitt apart
Also, with the engine idling, get a VERY long screwdriver/wrench (something metal), touch one end to the lower block around where the noise is coming from, and put the other end to your ear to see if you can pinpoint where its coming from.

I think to begin, you should be looking for the leak before anything else to find out if it can be fix, easy check
