Oil level

Alright guys well after replacing my oil pan gasket. I put a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 oil and when I checked my oil it was reading a very little below the low mark on my dipstick. :/ I bought 1 quart of mobil 1 and it now reads in the middle. I know the amount is 5.1. WTF is it not marking correctly?! I checked under my car the whole time when warming up my car for the 1st time to check for any leakage or anything like that and not one drip. I checked the oil when completely cold and about 5 minutes after turning it off and I`ve done this for like 10 times and nothing has changed. Im pretty sure my dipstick is OEM and the original for my H22A. So like wtf is wrong? lol

Re: Oil level

It usually takes more than 5 qts. To fill it.it needs more because some stays in the filter.

Re: Oil level

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat????

I have never, and I mean never had to put more than 4 quarts in my car at the time of an oil change.

when you change the oil, start the car, shut it down, clean the dipstick, then check the oil level.

from there, if it's low, I'd add 1/2 quart at a time and repeat above process until you figure out exactly how much oil your car needs.

Re: Oil level

Alright thanks. Its just strange how I need more oil when my engine should use 5.1 quarts.

Re: Oil level

Yeah same here unfortunately. I thought I would be fine and not have to be checking my oil as often but I think I have another little leak coming out of some tubes. Its a metal tube with a flexible tube going to the oil cooler. Do you guys know what I`m talking about? I saw alittle bit of oil seeping out when I was down there.

Re: Oil level

Alright so I saw some drips of oil on my driveway and I`m likw wtf now. Since I replaced the oil pan gasket last week. and THAT PEICE OF SHYT is still leaking oil. I little bit is seeping out of some parts of the oil pan and abit is on the bottom of it. WTF! I waited more than 24 hours. I`m going to tighten the bolts abit more. Hopfeully that fixes my problem. This lude is pissing me the fhuck of. Seriously Torn CV boot and the rack n pinion going out... -________- my fresh oil is dripping Any ideas on why? I let it dry for more than 24 hours. For approx 35 hours. SO like a day and a half. I used the whole tube of Hondabond... Didnt mis at all. SOme oil is also coming out of the bolts.

Re: Oil level

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE OIL PAN GASKETS!! They need to be torqued properly and in the correct sequence. This will cause leaks. These engines are very difficult to seal up and just get used to a little leaking.
