Icon5 yea im in trouble

I tried to replace my primary o2 with my plx m300 but the thing was seized in reeeeeeaaally bad. So i put some muscle into it and smacked it a few to let the pj blaster work its way in but no luck. Im pissed..... I quit.... and i picked the worst time to do the project..... so now the car is stalling really bad to the point where its undrivable. Im sure it has something to do with the o2 but for some reason its not throwing a code. So im frustrated and dont have a car to drive to school at 8 am to take a calc test. Im so boned. Since the m300 has a narrow bad output could i still plug it into the ecu and have the ecu read stoich all the time or would this still not work.

Re: yea im in trouble

FLAME ON!!
You need a torch bro, Heat up around the o2 sensor. and wrench it right off. Fairly easy, dont get so worked up its been on there forever and heat will fix it right up.
If you lived in dayton ohio id get it off in 10 minutes.

Re: yea im in trouble

well i have no torch. Ill have time to get it off tomorrow but right now my concern is being able to drive it in the morning. Would it be ok to just unplug it so that it runs on closed loop so that i can get to school or should i not risk it. right now with the plug in it is just flooding like freakin crazy

Re: yea im in trouble

I use a pipe wrench and a leverage bar to get them off. Just get a good bite on it and make it happen. I've tried the o2 socket but I always crack them.

Re: yea im in trouble

if you are really worried about it just unplug it and drive it around the block to see how it does for you. it should be fine. I wouldnt leave it like that forever but a trip to school isnt going to hurt anything.

Re: yea im in trouble

it's not a good idea to drive your car without an oxygen sensor unless you're driving it to a local auto parts store to buy a new one.

Your computer controls how much fuel to release through your fuel injectors with the help from readings on your oxygen sensors. Without oxygen sensors, your car will think there is not enough oxygen coming out of your exhaust manifold which can result in rich fuel mixture that causes pollution and more gas consumption than usual.

You will be fine to drive to school if its just the o2 sensor, be prepared to run rich out the ass. And dont keep driving it like that get it fixed asap.
also over time youll ruin your catalytic converter if you got one running with a bad 02 sensor lol.

Re: yea im in trouble

Yea i did a flash research before my post. But sorry i was freakin for a bit there. Man you guys should see how bad this thing is seized. It looks like a weld no joke. I tried everything except torching it. even let my car run for 10 minutes just to heat it up more than my previous attempt. a 4 foot steel bar used with a crow foot socket just made the medal look like lead. So yea im callin it quits on this one and taking it to my mechanic who luckily lives only a mile from my house. That bitch is commin out regardless if its in one piece or halves. Thanks for all the help though. God i should post a pic of that thing tomorrow. Its just gnarly

Re: yea im in trouble

depending of the space (I got no idea where is located at) may be a metal tube as an extension for leverage, may be pj blaster had work its way in by then, its just a suggestion! Use an open end wrench and may be running the engine again before that ( haha I like the idea of a pipe wrench)

Re: yea im in trouble

I used a huge pipe wrench last night. Im telling you i tried almost everything. The pipe wrench just chewed the hell out of it since it there was no budging. Good news i was able to get to school just fine. Figures my calc test was postponed.

Re: yea im in trouble

I just attached a 12" Cresent wrench and used double leverage by bracing the wrench against the ground at an angle while I used all of my weight towards the end of the downpipe.

I love physics :D

it could work, but not likely. No need to cut the wires, just heat it up and I'm certain it will come out of there.

Re: yea im in trouble

My o2 is located on top of the exhaust since its aftermarket instead of on the side like oem so impact wrench wouldn't work for me. Torching the sucker did the trick. On a side note with the plx wideband in its rediculous how rich our preludes run on WOT.
