Update idle issues :(

Hey guys as most u know I replaced the intake gasket. The vacuum leaks are gone, no more bouncing idle, now super low idle, almost stalled a few times it would be at 750 than dip down real low almost 0!! Also all new vacuum lines, new iac, fitv is fine, , spark, cap and rotor and wires all new. Wtf now? Anyone?

Re: Update idle issues :(

Not even going to pretend I know what's wrong, BUT.

Sounds like the engine's starving for air. What's going on with the throttle body? From what I've read, it can get dirty and clog up with carbon deposits. What about the air filter and idle intake valve? If you say sometimes she's at 750, then drops to 0, I would guess it's a malfunctioning valve..

Hope others can help, all I do is read up on stuff..

Did you attach your intake all the way? with a good seal? as well as the filter.

have you gone through the correct idle set procedure now that you have everything else fixed that may resolve your problem.

Re: Update idle issues :(

i had that same problem...the idle would be right at 750-850 when cold after the car warmed up a bit my rpms would stay the same untill i would go for a drive and stop at a red light, rpms would drop to 0. i cleaned my egr with seafoam(the spray kind)...sprayed some in the ports, sucked it out. it help a bit but i still had the same problem...next i picked up a egr solenoid and the orhe green thing next to it and BAAAMMMMM !!!! fixed :)...

I have roughly the same issue. We should both grab some Seafoam and dedicate some time to cleaning our EGR's!

Im going to try this in the morning, i totally forgot that i should unhook battery for 10 minutes and take out caps after replacing everything. Maybe the engine just has to re learn the idle procedure, I bet my audio capacitors were keeping the internal memory on even though battery was off.

Ill keep ya posted, thanks man ^

Im down to try it out with ya randall, we can both do that and drive the piss outta our cars before we change the oil.

I've Seafoamed twice. I'm actually running with Seafoam in my oil right now. You don't have to actually change the oil. It's safe. I've been running it in mine for 600 miles. I was referring to cleaning the EGR ports with Seafoam, but I can help with Seafoaming your car. It's funny how much it smokes afterwards

I've used it before and never had any issues. I only mentioned cleaning the EGR because he mentioned it ^

Never used it for that, but I love putting it in my intake and smoking my block out.

From what i always read people always did it in the brake booster. Not sure if there really is a "correct" way everyone does something different lol

Brake booster works. I use the PCV valve. Same concept. you have to suck it through a vacuum line that will distribute it to all cylinders.

I don't use credit cards and my only source of income is financial aid from Sinclair. It's balls, but I know I'll get paid once I finish my degree.

My buddy works at a speedway here in Riverside and he seems to get good money, but he blows it, lol. I could have a job, but I got a girlfriend instead. Pretty happy with life and I'm not fixing what isn't broken, lol. I may be broke as hell, but i'm happy.

I reset the ecu followed the helms manual, i just started it "warm engine ofcourse" going to let it sit 10 min see if it re adjusts everything. Still looks low atm, but ill check when i get out shower.

I did the ecu reset. Car Runs perfectly fine Except the low idle im experiencing every now and than. Its not a constant, But after driving on freeway for a while if i turn it off than like 2 min later turn it on she will idle low and almost stall for a second than pick it right back up. Seems to be when shes first started after a long drive. No more idle fluctuating though since vacuum issue was fixed.

That's good to hear about it fixing the fluctuation issue, my man. Hope you can take care of the stalls after long drives. Or you can always leave your girl turned on, naa I meen?

Re: Update idle issues :(

update: Everything replaced cap/wires rotor/plugs, FITV fixed, New IAC, all new gaskets and vacuum lines. runs great no idle issues no surging or jumping, Except after driving it when i turn it off and than turn her back on, for the first maybe 3-5 seconds idle drops real low and than she picks up and is fine for the rest of driving until i turn her off and restart than drops for a second and shes cool again. I dont know what else can be, possibly another bad iac right since engine is already warm?
Oh and yes i did the correct idle set procedure,And did seafoam, and changed oil blah blah. and my tps seems fine. She drives like a champ just annoying when i start it to see it dip for a second.

Could it be because i have a 3000 watt system in my car so thats my amps turning on and pulling power right quick?

Thanks guys youre awesome.
