Idling problems

I know this has probly been talked about before, but I couldnt really match anyones problem to mine. My car will idle very low when first starting and sometimes even die out in the middle of driving when I press in the clutch. The guy I bought this car from said this was some kind of racing engine and was idled low. Im wondering how to get it back to normal.

Re: Idling problems

I have the same exact problem with my car. And yes the h22 motors were considered racing motors made by honda til they were replaced with the k-series. The H and K seriers are basically the same but for racing, H was replaced with the K. Besides that, I'm havin the same problem and idk what to do to fix it.

I don't think that's true...yes k series replaced h series as factory-tuned production engines, but they don't even sit the same in the engine bay.
h22 was honda's flagship VTEC engine - "racing-inspired version of VTEC".
honda's racing engines are v8's and v-10's

OP - adjust your idle speed. Should be 1100 on cold engine and 700 warm.

BRM - don't post off-topic, unverified information. Especially on old, dead threads like this one.

Re: Idling problems

Check the FITV. Do you have any holes in the exhaust? Specifically before the O2 sensor?
