Type SH Suspension.

Ok, so I'm sure this has been asked... but I am having one HELLUVA time finding answers. How much different is a suspension install (shocks/springs or full coilovers) on a type SH than on a base model. I know that even though a lot of shocks/springs/coilovers say *Not for Type-SH*, they can be installed anyway, I've heard of many people succesfully doing it... can anyone point me to a good installation write-up??? It would be greatly appreciated because I have a type SH, and I want some suspension mods dammit!

All I can tell you is I have the Skunk2 lowering springs and they are nice, a little bouncy but over all I like them. They are not to pricey either, but not sure how much it was because the kid before me did the whole set up. I know it's not to helpful but it's something

Thanks! Yeah I had seen that before, there are a couple of good springs available out there for the stock shocks. I'm really looking for some good shocks or coilovers though because I want to get into AutoX and for me it's going to be more about the performance than the style, so lowering springs on stock shocks isn't going to do much for me. I REALLY want to get the Tein Basic damper kit, but I don't have that kind of dough to drop, and I noticed that like every friggin coilover kit or shock out there says "except Type SH", when I am pretty positive that's BS. I know that you can install shocks/springs/coilovers meant for the base model onto the SH, I just don't know how to do it personally lol. But, thanks for the response littlefoot. I really like your lude btw :-).

Any links to how-to's guys? Come on I know someone's got one.

Oh but I can't imagine why you wouldn't want lowering springs for auto x haha taking a parking lot that could have some pot holes or that's maybe just a little uneven and then swerving around cones fast as you can with out knocking them over it sounds perfect lol j/k I love auto crossing, it's soo much fun but yeah like I said that’s what I have didn't think it would help much...I know that Skunk2 does offer some other set ups for the SH and Thanks

Situation averted, I don't know why I never looked in the first place, but the Helms manual has a fairly detailed guide for removing and reinstalling shocks and springs from the base model and the type SH as well.
