HID Kit in a 5th Gen?

I was looking into getting a Phillips Hid kit, I know I know the retrofit is the way to go but there are some poor people in the world... Does anyone know how the HID Kit would look, I have searched for pictures and have found nothing.

Why not save up for the retrofit? It's worth it.

This is my opinion but i don't like HID kits on stock lights.. I stick with halogens until I get it retrofitted.

As far as how it would look, it's probably gonna have glare and it won't light up your view perfect

What are you going with? 6k? 8k?

Agree with Sentrik. I waited until I could afford a set of Mini Morimoto projectors ($120) and bought a 5000K ddmtuning HID kit ($60). It gives a better output than stock halogen light and a better look too.

Re: HID Kit in a 5th Gen?

just purchase an morimoto mini retrofit kit and can do the work yourself to save money. No need to blind on coming traffic and have hot spots on the road. With the mini's, you'll at least have the light focused onto the street like it's suppose to be with a much better light output than just putting an PnP kit in your stock housings

Re: HID Kit in a 5th Gen?

I have a 55w 8k ddmtuning kit and I love it, stock housing and everything. Can't beat the price, was only about 60 shipped I think.

Re: HID Kit in a 5th Gen?

I have 6000k 55w hid's i bought in a kit on ebay for $30 bucks shipped. H1 6000K Slim Ballast Hid Xenon Conversion Kit 12V 35W | eBay They work great, increased my visibility and dont put out to much glare. I have had them almost 8 months and have not been flashed by traffic one time. I aimed then down a bit from the stock settings but with the light the out put its far nicer than stock. As much as I like retros, they were out of my budget.

Re: HID Kit in a 5th Gen?

A hid kit might improve visabiltly a little bit for you (depending on what temp you get) but its gonna reflect a lot and have glare

If you get morimoto mini projectors and make them fit into your headlight you won't have the glare and you will be able to see 1000 times better because the output will be a lot better.. Ands it's pretty cheap

Just google "prelude retrofit diy morimoto mini projectors" and you should find all the info you need. Or just pm Brian- Prelude1897 I'm sure he'll help you with anything you need.

You'll be a whole lot happier with a retro fit
