Winter tires

Its coming to about that time where i have to look for winter tires :(. I was on my local classifieds and noticed there was a guy selling winter tires with prelude rims already on it, Bonus!. The Tires are Nokian Hakkapeliittas.

Does anyone know if Nokian is a good brand for winter tire? I did some research and found that the company only specializes in winter tires but I would like to know if anyone has ever drove with them on in the winter.

Re: Winter tires

i have never heard of that brand personally. I love my Firestone Winterforce tires that are on my civic, they are a great winter tire and they have not failed me ever since i started using them. I know alot of guys on here that run winter tires on there ludes will stand by there blizzaks. Hopefully other people can chime in with advice on the tires for sale. Also i guess depending on how much tread is left on the tires it isnt a bad deal with the rims.

Re: Winter tires

nokian are a great tire - I live in Canada and winters here can be bad. Ive had 2 sets of hakkas now on two different cars. ive also had blizzaks and to be honest, preferred the hakkas and they were cheaper.

would definately recommend them if the winters where you are get bad. otherwise a cheaper alternative would probably do fine.

Re: Winter tires

Yeah the Hakkapeliittas are phenomenal winter tires. It's one of those tires that if you have the money for (they're crazy $$ brand new) then you should definitely get them.

Haha yeah I noticed that too. I got some Gislavid's for mine last year and they work like a dream, you shouldn't have any problems with those Hakka's

Re: Winter tires

Buy blizzaks or don't buy any.

see how they are "super siped" (all the small lines are sipes) creating a TON of biting edges. There isn't a better tire. Just search "Blizzak snow tires"

They are the best in the business...
