think these will work for retrofit

watup, im gonna do a retro fit next weekend because i just visited the local junkyard and picked up some projectors for my low beam and my fog lights. i didnt find any tsx subaru or s2k projectors but i did find some out of a 2006 hyundai xg350 and the fogs are out of a hyundai sonata. i just wanted some opinions on wether these will get the job done heres some pics. oh btw i only paid 17 bucks for everything, pretty shweeet!

Re: think these will work for retrofit

you'll find out once you take apart your headlights, hack them up, and test fit the projectors.

Re: think these will work for retrofit

It may depend on what type of bulbs they utilized before. If they used HID bulbs like d2r, d2s then the output would be great, if it used a regular halogen it may be different. Such as cut off and the path it projects may not be the same as a tsx.

My recommendation is to put bulbs in there, wire it up to a battery, have the projectors focus on a wall, and see how they perform before you retrofit them.

Re: think these will work for retrofit

right i see what you mean, i didnt put an actuall bulb to it. but i tried a flashlight up to it in a dark room heres what it looked like. looks pretty much like what i see in the diy threads on retrofiting with the mini"s etc.. btw the way i will be using 800k hids with 55k ballasts from ddm tuning so i can only imagine it would look much better :)

Re: think these will work for retrofit

I wouldn't do 8000K; you have HID projectors, you should consider 4300K/5000K. With HID projectors the light appears blue to other drivers, but it's pure white behind the wheel (on the road). Doing the color mod/washer mod to the projector will also throw more color in the mix. I've got a TSX retrofit with the color mod and 4300K D2S bulbs; my cutoff is sharp, the vision is great, and my friends say that my light beam appears blue-purple at distances.

Re: think these will work for retrofit

those are halogen projectors..not hid projectors..if you use 55w hid bulbs, their gonna melt..and their way to big..just save up for some real projectors instead of what your about to do..and if you ever seen these on the 350hyundai , you will quickly discard these halogen projectors..very poor visibility out of them.

Re: think these will work for retrofit

i value your input and opinion bb6vtec, and see what you are saying about how they might look on a 350hyundai and they are infact for halogen bulbs, but i dont think they will melt everything is either glass or metal? and i dont think there too big about the exact size of these valeo audi a4"s as seen on here.Projector Retrofit Write-Up (Valeo H7) 5G Prelude - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums
i just thought it would be cool to get a retrofit done with only like $40 for everything would be neat. kinda like beating the system. lol. but anyways i will definitely put my headlights to one of them tomorrow night and see how they look on my garage. cant tonight its raining. and will post picks

Re: think these will work for retrofit

yeah im just trying to help you out. And if they are infact all metal and glass then you might get away with 55w. The pics make those projectors look huge.lol..If they are the same size as the audi valeo's then you should be good to go..iI would love to see the output on these with phillips d2s bulbs..They also look to have the same cut off as the tsx/s2000 projectors..Either way you will not be disapointed in a retrofitted lude..I know i love mines..
