Suspension seems to have popped through on coilovers

Right, fitted the coilovers and the damper arm seems to have popped out. hard to explain so I have some pictures. As you can imagine, this makes an awful ride horrendous!

pics:

(Don't be Jelous of my AFBS)

This is the other side. This is what it's meant to look like.

My question is, do I need to buy another cap (?) thing. And if so, where from? Koni?

From what I can see, nothing looks damaged so have I prehaps fitted it wrong?

Thanks guys!

Re: Suspension seems to have popped through on coilovers

ummmmmmmmm......... are you sure you even have a spring left?!?!?!?

in order for the strut rod to protrude upwards that much, the spring (coilover) must've snapped/broke, which means the rear right corner had no spring to support the weight of the car, shooting the strut that far up.

that, or the bottom of the strut isn't even bolted to the LCA. regardless, there should be a NOTICEABLE problem with the suspension (i.e. that corner of the car isn't at the correct ride height)

got any pics of the strut assembly behind the wheel?

I've never seen that happen before. What kind of coilovers were they?

When I installed my f&f type 1's with oem tophats on the front. I had that happen to me. I can't remember if I had forgotten one of those rubber pieces or if I forgot those heavy duty washers that goes on before the rubber piece. Anyways, you have aftermarket coilovers?

Did you put the washer on underneath the strut tower? I had the same issue, I just forgot to put the washer on.

ditto. same thing happened to me. there is a washer with a tapered inside diameter that sits on the tapered part of the shock rod. if that ain't there, this is exactly what happens. however, i just noticed, yours doesn't look tapered... so i dunno. might be a slightly different design.

You might want to jack up the rear and look to see if there is parts missing or in the wrong order.
