Re: Upgrade clutch line?

Yeah I have a Goodridge braided clutch line on my 4G track car, and they will fit the 5th no probelms. We did a group buy on PUK which came straight from Goodridge, they manufatured the slave cylinder end so it had a bend in the fixing to match the angle of the slave cylinder. Your link doesnt look like it has this but it wont be a problem as you can route the line many different ways and get a nice angle.

Re: Upgrade clutch line?

Very direct feeling, much the same as upgrading to braided brake lines. There is a tiny bit of vibration through the peddle but thats as expected as the dampener is removed when you replace the OEM clutch line.

Shorter distance in your case.

For us - getting to the clutch line can be a real pain in the ass since it goes over the brake booster on the drivers side and then dips under the intake manifold and over to the lower portion of the passenger shock tower then onto the transmission.

Where for you - the master cylinder is directly behind the transmission.

Re: Upgrade clutch line?

That's the short one (stupid stock pic makes it look long, but it won't be...)... long one's are harder to get... rywire sells an expensive one... email techna-fit directly and they will probably offer you one at about half the cost of the rywire... don't just buy a pre-made techna-fit... I made that mistake and it's a short one, but for just a little more I could have gotten them to make a custom longer one for me... you need 58". I have techna-fit brake lines... no problems so far!

Re: Upgrade clutch line?

I got mine from Rywire for $65. In my opinion not that expensive for what you get. Very nice quality, banjo fitting at the MC end, and it has a black coating over the line itself so it blends into the bay.

Re: Upgrade clutch line?

I'm not saying it is outrageous, but when I contacted techna-fit they quoted me at about half that... and I am pretty sure you can choose the color of your protective coating... I'd buy the cheaper one....

I have one of techna-fit's short clutch lines (by mistake) that I would like to sell, and I am using their brake lines.. quality seems top notch... so again I'd buy the cheaper one...

Totally agree, cheaper is better long as the quality is there. When I ordered mine everything I seemed to find was too short.

For future reference, did they offer banjo fittings for the ends? Oh, and how long would it take for you to get the line from when you ordered it? I know some places when you "custom order" it's like 2 extra weeks.

Re: Upgrade clutch line?

My brake lines were made after the order was placed, and shipped within a few days... so I think it would be pretty quick... I'm sure they'd tell you if you email them (addressed at their site)... they do offer banjo fittings too.

I think the rywire line looks great, and the price isn't bad... I felt silly when I got my short line (like I said I thought it was the long one), and could have had the longer one for about 10 extra bucks.. :( I won't buy the long one until I sell the short... ebay here I come!!!

Hey all, does the Goodridge 92-96 Honda Prelude Clutch Line 20036-CLU work on the 5th gen as well? Their site specifically calls out 4th gen. Also any tips and tricks for removing the stock line would be great.

Thanks

**** dude, read the rest of this thread.

To recap, that is the short line. Will not fit a LHD car. If you find a line for a 4th gen LHD it will fit a 5th gen though.

Always verify the slave and master cylinder fitting sizes first.

Thanks, i did but found myself still unsure... this and other threads seem to get this subject a bit flooded with misinformation regarding length, fitting dimension and such so i just wanted to double check since you guys seem to be the ones with the best info :)

Jay Racing has 4th and 5th gen, ill check with them on length.

Thanks all for the advice and knowledge.
