Failing Fuel Injectors

None of my injectors are releasing any fuel. So, my car obviously won't start. My first clue that I had a problem was my car's tach flicking up and down really quickly on the highway, losing power, then ultimately dying. It wouldn't restart. I've finally found that none of my injectors are working properly.

This leads me to think the failure isn't with the injectors themselves, but maybe an ECU problem? Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me? I've never dealt with computer related problems on my car before.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Failing Fuel Injectors

Or maybe could it be a problem with the ignition switch or the chip in the key is messed up? I have an 01 tho, so I'm pretty sure it's not included in that ignition switch recall.

Re: Failing Fuel Injectors

yes I can hear the fuel pump priming. I'll check my fuses, thanks for the tip.
Making sure, where exactly are the fuses that would pertain to the injectors?

Perhaps main relay issue?

Just because you can hear the pump doesn't mean its working like it should.

Re: Failing Fuel Injectors

If you hear the pump pressurizing the system when you turn the key, it's not the main relay. What led you to the injectors, though?

Re: Failing Fuel Injectors

The main relay sends a signal to the ignition system and the fuel system. Its a smaller gray box underneath and up from the steering wheel. The online manual that is in the resource guide can help troubleshooting it. IT IS NOT fun to get at. Also, cause i learned the hard way with a similar problem, check the ground wire on the thermostat housing, that causes the main relay to even get its power. It could be corroded, Maybe u have a fuel pump thats crapping out on you. Fuel injectors probably isnt the first place i would look. Good luck.

Re: Failing Fuel Injectors

Chances of all your injectors being clogged and not fireing is slim to none.

First, check to see if you can hear the pump prime when the key is turned. Then you need to do a fuel pressure test depending on the results of the first test.

If the pump isn't making any noise when the key is turned to ON, then you could have yourself a bad pump.
