so, I'm trying to figure out something

hey guys, sorry I did search, but nothing came up,
i'm looking for a code on my block,
so i got rid of the lude, got rid of the crx, and sold of the beemer,
i recently got me a delsol with a h22a swap in it, came with a red wrinkle valve cover,
now i'm trying to figure out if it is a type S swap out of the 5th gens, unless, the 4th gen preludes had a redtop engine..which i have no idea,
(hence, why i'm posting in the 5th gen, since what I know of hand that the 5th gen type s came with a redtop)

it does have an lsd tranny, but I doubt that makes a difference in what the engine actually is, I'm trying to figure out if there is any code numbers or numbers on the block its self or the head to figure out if it is a type S swap or just a regular h22a.

so yeah, shoot me up of what the codes are, because the search button nor google is helping me,

thank you guys.

great to be back in my h22.

really hard to help you here as so many honda owners do all these JDM swaps now a days its hard to tell you what you have.

You have to be sure you have a factory color red top alot of guys can paint with that wrinkle paint and make it look JDM. The H22A4 is the USDM H22 from what I know, and most of the people I hear about say that the H22A1 is the JDM red top. Now look at the front of your motor and look about where the starter is installed thru the bell housing of the tranny and just to the right of that somewhere on the motors side is like a stap and it should say H22 (soemthing). AS for the type s motor not real sure but I think these came out of the Prelude SiR? Only way I know is to figure out if your compression ratio is higer than a 10.5:1 if it is you have the Type S engine.

Hope this helps.

Go message Kronn over on pp. He has been working on a list consisting of all motor codes/ what car they came from/ where they came from.

here's a few thread examples of his:
