03 g35/SH

Without going boost what would my SH need to pull on a lightly modded g35. the curb weight on it is 3,505 lb and the prelude is about 3,042 lb. I have the jdm h22a right now with dc headers, aem CAI, aem pulleys and greddy evo exhaust. would built head + skunk 2 cams let me do this or would I need to do more work like adding skunk 2 manifold with everything tuned on p28 or p72. Im debating what route to go with in my car since i'm only trying to keep it at around 250 whp so my ATTS can still function.

(yes i know dc headers aren't the best, i bought my car like this)

Re: 03 g35/SH

easiest and cheapest wayis gonna be a 75 shot of nitrous. Ull want direct port and a wet system. Driver skill will be the biggest factor in any race tho. And power isnt what u need to be concerned with. What u want is tq.

Re: 03 g35/SH

If you have a JDM H22A and ATTS, then that would mean you have 220hp Type S motor since that was the only JDM model with ATTS.

Type S headers are probably better than DC, AEM CAI would not be significantly different from the Type S intake with a K&N filter. Type S already has head work done, better springs, slightly more aggressive cams, etc.

Also if you want to tune and keep ATTS, then you can't switch to OBD1; you need to run the stock ECU and a piggyback such as an eMangage Ultimate.

Re: 03 g35/SH

Gotta agree with everybody about the nitrous. A 60 jet or so should be enough to take him down. Or full bolt ons and headwork.

Re: 03 g35/SH

hmmmmm

ive heard mixed things about nos, some people say its safe and others say its not safe. i still think doing headwork would benefit me more in the long run then just throwing on some nos

Re: 03 g35/SH

NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWS.. seriously if your going to build a motor your going to need to do it right and have it tuned at which point adding a turbo will only cost 1/4 of what you already have spent

Re: 03 g35/SH

Really, the easiest thing you could do is just sit back and understand that trying to take a g35 down isn't worth spending the money to get the same spec's. Stick to racing in your own class. I'm not trying to act like a smart@ss but there are better ways to spend your time than trying to race a over-priced fake nissan.

Re: 03 g35/SH

you got a lot of research to do...

p.s. there are 2 types of g35. the VQ35DE and VQ35HR. a g35 with the de engine in stock form runs at best low 14s. HR on the other hand can run mid to high 13s a few have pulled low 13s in stock form.

Also please don't make this a "if this who would win thing" b/c I dont want to have to close this thread.

I didn't know much about the G35's, but this explains a lot. I had some trouble with one a while back lol
