Headlights

Hello all! I hope someone can help me since Honda seems to act clueless when I bring this up. The headlights on my 2000 Prelude are no longer crystal clear and bright. I can't tell if it's the outside or inside but it's yellow, dingy, foggy looking. I'm not sure if it's weather related or what but it's ugly and needs to be fixed! Is there a way to take care of this w/out paying over $1,000 to get new ones? Thanks.

take some metal polish and buff the out side lens that will get rid of it, if it is way thick use some 2000 grit sand paper all the way up to the highest grit count sand paper you can find and sand them is steps. then use the metal polish to finish it off and make them shine like brand new again.

Or if your lazy you can take your car to a detail shop and tell them to buff your headlights and they'll know what to do.

Thank you Mizlude... I hope I don't screw it up. I'll probably end up taking it to the shop. Hope it doesn't cost and arm and a leg. I'm ready to sell this thing.

Drew, I'm new... didn't see any write up and really didn't feel like searching the entire site for my questions. Thanks for your reply anyway.

I know that Kramer Tire offers headlight cleaning for like 40$ for both lights. They basically sand it and then clear coat it.

Not sure we have a Kramer Tire in Southern Cali. Thank you all for your suggestions. You see, I'm so "special" that I'd probably mess up really bad w/out step-by-step instructions. I'll just try to find a shop.

any body shop should be able to complete the headlight cleaning/restoration with wetsanding and or plastic polish.
