Question about importing

Hello everyone got some questions about importing a prelude. I looking for 5th gen 4ws and I as i can see its a pain in the butt to even get it over to the US or even impossible but I fround out that you can import a car without a engine and its counted as a car part and not a car, so it dosnt have to pass dot or whatever that other things is. so does anyone know who I would even talk to import a prelude without a motor over here?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Question about importing

you can try looking around other areas of the US, if you live in the US of course.
i know there are a couple 4ws 3rd and 4th gens for sale in Washington right now.

Re: Question about importing

No thanks on the 4th gen not my taste and as for the 3rd gen already had two one 4ws one none 4ws ( and the I converted the 3rd gen to 4ws). long store short I want to make a concept version for the 5th gen prelude 4ws awd, I really don't want to get all the electonic parts for the 4ws. I already own a 5th gen also but need something to drive around if I am working on the concpet one

Re: Question about importing

If you have nearly endless funding, go for it! I thought putting a v6 in a 5th gen would cost less than 4,000$ and trust me I was wrong. Custom machining and fab work has a huge pricetag. Your talking ridgeline parts made to fit with 5th gen 4ws parts (probably on a non-4ws 5th gen body).

Re: Question about importing

Thanks for you advice and good luck with your project. but I would be doing all the work my self I have access to maching and any tool and I am ready to spend most of my hard earned money on this. Not sure what you ment about ridgeline parts? but the 5th gen prelude across seas is 4ws thats what I want and to put a h4 engine in it and make it a mid engine awd 4ws beast. Ive already started on a 3d model of it its still in the rough stages I have some pics if anyone wants to give their two cents on how it looks.
