need a good jump start

Hey I just picked up a 2000 prelude sh. Completely bone stock with 39,000 miles. For now I just want to do minor upgrades. I've read a few things on Jun flywheels and excedy clutches for starts. complete short throw shifter kit. I want a cold air intake, also would like it to be able to cut back to ram air if need be. Exhaust I am going to be picky because I don't want it loud and I am still tossing the idea of turbo or n/a setup. So any exhaust it would be from the cat and back with no fart can sound

I'm looking for brands to check out and possible websites with good info on the part(s).

Oh one thing. I'm looking for 4 new tires. I went onto tirerack.com and the Continental ExtremeContact DW summer tires seem to have good feedback. However I am open to suggests.

This car will be summer only. Garage stored in the winter months.

thank you

39k.... such an amazing find man!

For intakes - the name doesn't matter honestly, you can get an ebay cold air intake pipe and install a K&N or AEM dryflow filter on the end and it'll be the exact same as an expensive brand name intake. Getting a full cold air and cutting it at the point where you would like it to be a short ram would be an idea - when you're using it as a cold air just put a cupler on the pipe. Or you could just get a K&N drop in filter for the stock box, which would give you equivalent gains.

Exedy makes the stock Prelude clutches, so I personally trust those, but always order a new HONDA throw-out bearing. I only trust Honda's. There are many other makes out there that are good, just do a quick search. For a normal mildly built car - there's no need to go above a stage 2.

Exhausts, you could try and find a Mugen exhaust which is mild and not raspy or loud. Or look for a WS2 exhaust. They are the most quite on the market, the Mugen will be very expensive and most likely used. I personally would go custom 3" piping and a muffler of your choice - if you're looking for gains, that will net the most.

Re: need a good jump start

There is no point in buying anything you have listed if you are tossing around the idea of turbo or n/a.. because if you are talking about adding serious power the first thing to do would be to get rid of that atts.. once the engine reaches ~250 hp the atts is no longer useable.

Keep it stock man she's a beauty! Buy a base and do something with it. Just my opinion.

The one time SH DRIVER can make a useful post about leaving your car alone... Nowhere to be found! That is Irony.

Your car is fruggin beautiful. Don't do damn thing to it. Keep it as is, some crazy collector will buy it from you for money cause it's un molested!

More pics and welcome!
