Preludezone Guidance on some parts

Hey Guys!

Im looking to do a couple minor changes to my car and wanted to come to preludezone once again for some Guidance! First off my brother just got a cold air intake installed in his 2008 sierra and i must admit it adds some nice sound to the engine so my first question is... Does the Cold Air intake really help the mpg's as much as some say it does to vehicles on your prelude, Also does anyone have one installed and know what it does to the overall engine sound?

Second question, Were can i buy some HID Aftermarket Headlights!

Re: Preludezone Guidance on some parts

Please don't get HIDs unless you get a set of depo projectors or a retrofit. You will be "that asshole" blinding people on the other side of the street. As for the CAI. DO IT! You'll love it.

Re: Preludezone Guidance on some parts

If you want a very noticible sound I`ve heard the v2 sounds great but it`s pricey. I have an ebay intake with a K&N filter and if I step onthe gas abit & I can hear it clear and its an orgy haha It sounds nice. It won`t give you better gas milage but it looks nice. Do you have the original intake on it? If so you could also just get a drop in filter from K&N but I don`t think it will make any noticible sound that you can hear while driving. As to HIDs if you don`t have money to dump on a retrofit, HIDS is the way to go get DDM tuning they are great from what I`ve heard. That`s what I will be getting when I come to buying some.

I'm that asshole

ddmtuning.com or Xentec on eBay are both pretty quality sets for HID's.

Re: Preludezone Guidance on some parts

Why ask this in an open forum? You know SH DRIVER is gonna post a pick of a stuffed resonator box and the improvement of he type s intake with the velocity stack... Again.

Go oem tsx retro at hid planet. The D2S bulbs for projectors.

Re: Preludezone Guidance on some parts

I got a v2 and it makes all kinds of noises lol. When I'm in low rpm's it whistles.. I'm not stock so I don't know if it sounds different to other people lol

But I would either drop in a k&n filter (better mpg) or an aem cai because it's cheaper

And ddm tuning for hids.. But I wouldn't put them in stock headlights or depo "projectors" (they are halogen projector not made for hids)

You will blind people and the output will suck

I know the stock headlight output sucks and getting a retrofit is a little pricey but it's the best option.. A retrofit will run you around $550 but it holds it's value well because it's a custom part and you are really paying for the projectors..

I haven't got a retrofit YET.. I'm working on it.. But I have real projectors in my Z and the preludes stock headlights aren't even comparable

How much do they charge? The tsx with d2s bulbs is the best setup IMO

The morimoto mini's are the cheapest retro and to me are still "top shelf" they have a great output, are bi-xenon and last long

Re: Preludezone Guidance on some parts

I never really thought about the patrons on the other end of the lights . You have made me reconsider my opinion for the hid lights. As for the intake you guys have just fueled my desire for them!!! Any good places to purchase, Any specific brands I should look out for?

Thanks

Re: Preludezone Guidance on some parts

HID's are great, but yea get some projectors or retrofits to do em properly. There's a whole write up on SAI's, CAI's, and other intake modifications on here….search it and you'll find it. As far as brands go, I would stick with either K&N(their Typhoon comes with piping for both CAI and SAI) or for a SAI an AEM V2 is also great(albeit a tad pricey). Ebay is probably going to be your best bet, but you have to know what to look out for. Look at reviews and positive feedback rating, and also look out for things that are too good to be true(because they most likely will be). IE, an AEM v2 for $4(also, they can get you on the shipping, so watch out for that and make sure you know how much you're paying before you submit.

Oh btw, SHDRIVER got banned, for now, Sideswipe.

oops he should not have kept that up.

Back on topic: Daniel, you can get D2S (hid projector) or D2R (halogen lights) for your bulb out put, so no blinding oncoming traffic. the generic ebay light will blind all: don't go above 6000K.

The CAI? ebay prelude Type S intake to see what comes up. the factory setup is damn goo, fits perfect and has good gains (then buy the K&N drop in filter). only other preluders would know the difference. The K&N intake comes highly recommended, if you find the kit used, just replace the filter or wash it with the K&N filtercharger kit. Good stuff both ways.
