From bad to Worst

Kinda of a emergency Thread. on friday i had a mechanic change both my drive axle because they had been bad for a while. apparently he reused the transmission fluid which i dont mind since i told him to. the thing is yesterday night while out suddenly my transmission started to give me alote more issues then usual. its a auto and i know its on its way out but yesterday really took it up a notch. blinking D4 light, slipping out of 4th to 3rd. slipping into neutral. i know all signs of transmission failure but i find it way to coincidental that the day after changing out my axles my transmission just started to fail completely. checked the transmission fluid and seems to be completely empty. where could it be leaking from? could the axles be on wrong? the car is pretty much parked till tommrow and its my Daily Driver.

Re: From bad to Worst

No other option but to get some transmission fluid in there and check for a leak.

Re: From bad to Worst

axles can only go in 1 way, so I'm sure they're not in wrong. If he pulled the axle seals out, hopefully he remembered to put new ones in or maybe he forgot to put the tranny fluid back in.

Re: From bad to Worst

Tranny leaks are pretty obvious you would know if you had one.... Just refill an locate the leak if you think that's the issue

Make sure the your drain plug is tighten ;) even I've hand tighten them before lol....

Yea, refill, then check for the plug and then jack up the car and check if it's coming from the axle seal. Where the tranny and axle meet.
