Valve, Lifter or Spun Bearing

I remember it happening. I was driving home. I was on 295. Going about 70mph, I remember my rpms dropped a bit and the car felt funny and when it came back. I had this noise.

Before this point I was already done with the car. I was planning on moving on to something new, but I came back to it like a hot crazy girlfriend. I wanna fix her now, but I can't exactly locate the sound. I tried broomsticks (I haven't pulled plugs to isolate the cylinder. Which I should do).

Anyway, I put almost another 2,500 miles on it with this sound. So spun bearing seems less likely.

Any info is much appreciated.

Don't mind the exhaust leak on the down pipe. It's right in your face. I'm working on that next.

Re: Valve, Lifter or Spun Bearing

That sounds like lifter or burnt valve? Don't think that is a bearing

Re: Valve, Lifter or Spun Bearing

It sounds like it doesn't it? I need to get a leak down test done. I'm not sucking through the exhaust though.

I just hope it's nothing on the bottom end.

Re: Valve, Lifter or Spun Bearing

ya i had a integra ls years ago and it had shredded the timing belt when i bought it i think it either nicked the valve or burnt one and it alwas made a little noise. Tho your video is quite loud so im thinking it most likely a lifter or that valve would be really sticky and hanging around too long to make noise like that.

Yea, it's pretty loud. Not an overwhelming "knock", but more of a loud tick/clack.

Sometimes it disappears at cruising speeds, but when I give it a little, it flares up again. On 95, I keep playing with the cruising and giving it a little gas to see if I feel any difference.

I'm gonna pull the valve cover today. See if I can give it a visual inspection. Hopefully :/
