JDM Transmission

So the transmission on my 5th gen is going/gone and im looking to replace it. Ive been looking at a jdm lsd transmission and i am wondering if everything on the jdm one is going to be the same as the usdm ones? I know that the engines are slightly diffrent and just want to make sure that the trannies are going to be a easy swap before i make the jump and buy one.

Re: JDM Transmission

Every Honda's H- ja F-series transmissions are compatible amongst themselves

atleast you can find LSD from these:
M2B4 JDM Prelude 92-96
T2W4 JDM Accord Euro R
T2T4 JDM Accord SiR-T
M2Z4 JDM Prelude SiR S-spec
U2Q7 EDM Accord Type R

No…I think it was 4.266 on the Type-S's…which are the ones that have that LSD. They're C/R is 11:1

EDIT: I lied. It's not the Type-S that has the LSD. Its the SiR S-Spec…the one with the most power.

Re: JDM Transmission

maybe i didnt word the question good enough. is there going to be any sensors or connections that will be diffrent on the JDM trans? will it have or not have anything that USDM has or does not have that will need to be connected or exchanged from the other trans? basically is there anything that will stop it from being a completely straight forward swap?

Re: JDM Transmission

haha yep, you're welcome. I don't think there's anything different there…it should be a straight swap in. Now the only thing I can think of would be if the LSD is any bigger than our differentials…. anyone know?

Re: JDM Transmission

He's asking if installation will be any different - no, it shouldn't. It's the same exact transmission, except for the gear ratios (which don't affect installation).

Re: JDM Transmission

yeah that's what I was saying. Just wasn't sure if the LSD was the same size as the standard diff.
