Is my car OBDI or OBDII?

Hey Guys

My prelude has a JDM H22A, JDM distributor (internal coil) and the JDM dizzy harness (8 wire connector).

Im not too familiar with OBDI but if my car has all the above, does it mean its probably already OBDI? Does this mean I have an OBDI ECU or can the above run off a stock OBDII ECU? Please excuse my ignorance. I only ask because when I jump the OBDII connector I get misfire codes on all cylinders but thats the only code thats showing up. I dont think its actually misfiring so just trying to troubleshoot.

Thanks

Re: Is my car OBDI or OBDII?

OBD2B 98-02 Honda Accord
OBD2A 96-01 Honda Prelude
OBD1 92-95 Honda Prelude

You cannot mix those OBD1 and 2 ecus, OBD1 H22 have difference injectors than OBD2 H22 so I dont think it will work correctly

Re: Is my car OBDI or OBDII?

Assuming the car had the swap done - it is possible to have OBD2 H22a - they have a different emissions ratings system. So try having a shop or some place plug it in the port to check your emissions. If they are able to get a reading - than you're obd2. If they don't get any kind of reading - you're obd1.

or you could just pull back the carpet and check the ecu

so there were H22As that came OBD2? I thought they all came OBD1 since the H22A were a Japanese variant?

Re: Is my car OBDI or OBDII?

There are both OBDI and OBDII H22As. Same as the generations go. H22a1 is OBDI and the A4s are OBDII. The JDM motors are all just H22As thats all
