Re: help broke my key!

Go to another dealership then... you don't need a red key. You can get away with the black key.

Re: help broke my key!

They DO need the chip part from your old key that is what they need to copy to the newly cut key! I bet if you held the chip part up to column and used new cut key it would start.

Re: help broke my key!

To add new transponder # key yes, but if your old key was working then the transponder chip could be copied to the new key and should work fine. If the dealer does not know this you need another dealer!

You need to make a T-5 clone key from your original key. I did it a year ago cost $34 and some change total at a Honda dealer.

Same here!!! the prev owner only had 1 key and so when it canme to gettin a autostart and alarm system in my car they needed a key and since I only had one that I had to do the same to get a T-5 key to place into the sensor module that will allow the car to recognize the code to start the car!!!

Re: help broke my key!

they said they got the code from my vin # so didnt need my old chip, i dont think they know what they are doing, im gonna have to find another dealership and get the car towed there hopefully not too far, im gonna try to hold the old chip part to the new key to see if it will start then i can just drive it to the next place i find.

Re: help broke my key!

That is the common response with no key make sure your chip works and have them use the machine to copy the transponder code to the new key

Re: help broke my key!

yeah this dealership doesnt know anything, maybe they just dont have the machine to copy the chip not sure, i told them they need my old key to copy the chip but they said they dont need it, and they couldnt figure it out so now want to order a new immobilizer. im gonna see if a locksmith would have the machine and copy the chip for me.
