electrical issue

So I have been having issues with my car dying on me and the abs and oil light coming on and going away aswell as the tach and speedo dieng and coming back. Well I swaped in a new alternator and battery and the car died the 3 days later. So checked fuses and connections and every passes. So what could it be and where do I begin my quest in resolving this issue?

Re: electrical issue

hmm, try looking up the conditions for your ignition switch - they are known to have issues and go bad on some 'ludes.

as well as look into the conditions for the main relay going bad

check all ground wires in the bay. and if you were recently working in the car - check the ground wires there as well.

I assume all your fluids are topped up, possibly the oil pressure sensor switch as well

just some things to look into

Re: electrical issue

Its most likely your ignition switch, my car is doing the same thing. Im taking it to the honda dealer on friday to have the recall done. Call Honda and give them your VIN number to see if its been done already so u can know for sure if thats your problem...

Re: electrical issue

well i did call honda and gave them my vin # and they told me my car was not included in the ignition switch recall, which i might think is bull ****.

I did try something though, i turned the car on and unplugged the negative battery terminal and the car died. which means the alternator is not working, but i took out a bad one and put in a brand new one.

I know very little about electrical but im willing to go exploring and learn something.

Any place i can download a pdf of the manual. the only ones i found you had to pay for.

thanks guy for the input

thanks Wing8806

Re: electrical issue

My car just up and died on me on the highway the other day....
wouldnt start back up so I had to get it towed home.

My tach started bouncing reallllly fast up and down right before the engine cut out. Anyone have any of you guys have any ideas on what this could a symptom for?

I don't mean to steal the thread, I just saw this was electrical related so I thought maybe ya'll could help me out. I'm gettin pretty frustrated, I can't figure what's wrong with my poor Lude.

Re: electrical issue

You are most likely having the same problem. Check all your wire harness for loose ground first but more then likely its the ignition switch...
