new rims/tires with stock supsension

I got some 17's off from another car of mine that i don't drive and put them on my 2000 prelude and the tire is fairly close to touching a piece of what i am considering the suspension.

Here is a picture, the piece inside the red circle is what my tire is almost touching, im about less than half an inch from touching it.

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/o...uspension2.jpg

I don't know very much about suspension which is why im here and I would rather not go back to my stock rims and tires and i am wondering what can be done so i can keep these rims.

Thanks.

Re: new rims/tires with stock supsension

rim's offset is possibly wrong, so you might need to get spacers if you wanna keep them

Re: new rims/tires with stock supsension

i dont think it will touch because it moves with the rim. try putting tires less wide if you are scared of it touching

Moves with the wheel. If its not rubbing when its on there it wont rub. Its not like your running race drag slicks that stand up a little when under heavy acceleration.

I wouldn't hear anything when im just driving normally but when I would go up a driveway or bump I would hear something that I didn't hear with my old tires and im thinking that it touches and I don't want it to eventually ware out that piece and make it give out.

Yeah your rubbing get some thinner tires. I`m having that issue too I`m just very carefull when doing a turn and going up a ramp or etc I just got wider and it sometimes doesn`t hit. As soon as I need tires I`m going 215/35/16 I`m currently running 215/55/16 so yeah. haha

dude just get some 205/50's its the stock size for our cars guranteed not to f with your ****. or you feel that its neccasary to run the 215(kinda useless on a 6.5wide) get 215/45-16

to the op,
you need to find out the specs on the rims before anyone can give a concrete answer. width, offset and tire size

I bought my RSX rims of of craiglist for 300 with pretty much new Hankook ventus tires... I couldn`t pass. As soon as I need new tires of course I`m going to go to a smaller size. I`m not AND I correct myself I ment 205/55/R16 which is still to big but not as wide.
