the last two plugs were damaged from the tap. I am unable to remove them. My friend who works at Honda told me I would have to remove the IM and then knock the plugs out so they could fall through the intake openings. I think this sounds like a good idea but I'm not so sure.

Hmmmm. I have one that's off the car. I'll take it apart and have a look.

Thanks! I was thinking I could push them through and let them roll out from the openings.

ogsmakdade have you seen your intake manifold already? Mine is ready to come off, I just can't remove it at the moment because of a huge gash on my hand. :[

I didnt use a tap to take mine out. Just drilled a small hole and weasled them out with a small screwdriver. Worked for me

I'm sorry I have not had the time, I've been working 11 hour days. Hope to get on it this week.

No problem man, I understand.
Besides the IM and EGR plug removal, I found this sensor hanging off in the back of the block. Do you have an idea of what sensor it is?

Just remove the intake manifold so you don't risk anything falling in...

I have everything off now. I've already cleaned the inside of the in take manifold. I'm now removing the old gasket, its stuck on the engine block, so I'm using brake cleaner and PB Blaster to loosen it up a bit.

I'm finally done. :)

Everything went pretty good. I found a really neat chisel set my mother had and it made the task of removing the gasket very very easy, reducing the time from 6-8 hours to 2-3 hours. The only problem at the moment is bleeding the coolant and the fuel feed line was leaking minimal amounts of gas due to the severe bend of the pipe, so I will be buying a new one soon.

There was only 6 that I saw. :O I managed to get out 5 of the 6. On the sixth one I damaged the tap and could get it out. Its still fine since I didn't go all the way through so it didn't bother me. I sprayed and cleaned inside with a lot of carb cleaner.

Re: I was almost done removing my EGR ports when..

Why not drill in a screw and get a slide hammer to pull them up and out?

Re: I was almost done removing my EGR ports when..

Some penetrating oil, small drill bit thru the plug and then a slide hammer, definitely not a tap. They pop right out.

6-8 hours to scrape off one gasket!! Come on bro, that's a 20 min job with a razor blade.
