Caliper paint and exhaust question

Hi, I bought a Prelude SE this spring and I've made small changes on it since the day I bought it and now it's time to paint my calipers, but I don't know which color do paint them...Should I go with black, red, gold? I've tried to look for pictures, but they are not really clear and I don't want to look like Fast and Furious. Also I'm planning on changing the exhaust, but I don't know if I should go 2.5 or 3 inches and what's better...a fully custom exhaust without cat or a Skunk 2 or Greddy catback?

Re: Caliper paint and exhaust question

the calipers..gold. hands down. Only cuz I hate black and red but with gold it looks good.

As for the exhaust, what type of setup do you plan on. Turbo or N/A. 3" piping has proven to have more gains in both applications. If you live in CA you need a cat

Re: Caliper paint and exhaust question

Personally I don't think you should paint the calipers a colour that stands out unless they're worth bragging about, like a set of twin spots or Brembos or something. That's why I painted mine silver. That and current model upmarket Hondas and Acuras have silver (zinc coated iirc) calipers

Exhaust should be left until you know what you want to do with the car? Plan on turboing in the future? Fit your turbo spec exhaust now. You said you have an SE, so I'll take a wild stab in the dark at the fact that you're in Canada? To my knowledge you'll need a cat, though it's never my recommendation to remove it.

Car looks good with those rims and that height.

well, I am happy with my Skunk2 catback & Catco 2,5" highflow cat

3" is kinda too loud for me and some people say it reduces cars gas response

Re: Caliper paint and exhaust question

Caliper color = Duplicolor Silver Engine Enamel. Looks awessssssome. personally I think the actual caliper paint kits always come out looking sub-par, so I went with engine enamel instead and am very happy with it.

Re: Caliper paint and exhaust question

Thanks for all of you and to respond to your questions, yes I live in Canada and I'm planning to be N/A. What would be the difference between a 2,5 and 3 inches exhaust? I'm thinking of buying a custom exhaust line because it's around 400-500$ in here, but I'd like to know what's better between a factory made or custom made exhaust in a car shop.

I remember reading from some vets here that there is dyno showing 3" makes more gains even in N/A. But it's probably annoying loud.

Re: Caliper paint and exhaust question

G2 caliper paint. Doesn't matter what color, that's the best one I've used. It actually hardens into a handball like material, nice and shiny. Silver always looks good, you can choose yellow, orange, green, match your car paint. Greens looks good, I painted a set and it's a great finish.

3" exhaust on the 5th gen as far as I can tell is a plus.

How loud would a 3'' sound like? Especially running with only a resonator.

There's enough room under the car to run 2 resonators if you're worried about too much noise.

Blue calipers?

I'm thinking going blue on my crystal-blue lude.
