18" Rims on 5th gen lude

Im looking to swap 18" rims on my 01 prelude and wondering if it would fit. Exact size is 18x8.5 with 245/45/18 rubber. Stock height. Does anyone know if those would rub inside or outside? Thanks

Re: 18" Rims on 5th gen lude

It looks like the Tire rack says that a 215/40-R18 would work on a 5th gen Prelude.

Yea....its most common to go with 17's with our cars. I just did it, and I'm at stock height.

Re: 18" Rims on 5th gen lude

I have 18x8 and only rub in the front when I fully max out the steering. The back do not rub. I lowered the prelude 2" on coil overs. The front only rub on the inner liner of the fender not the fender it self.

Re: 18" Rims on 5th gen lude

Ran 17x8.5 +45 with no rubbing issues. Then again, I stretched 205's on there like it was an elastic band. Not sure about 18's...

Re: 18" Rims on 5th gen lude

I use to have 225/40 18s on my lude and it never rubbed in the front only in the rear so I went down to 215/35 so that I could lower the car a little more..

coilovers are considered a good suspension upgrade. I stick by my previous statement. I've been rocking 18's on my lude since most of you were in middle school.

get good suspension if your tire profile is 35, I have 35's and they make ride little bit harder

Re: 18" Rims on 5th gen lude

If you get 18x7.5 you'll be good.. With 215/35/18 tires you won't rub.. Might wanna lower it though

Lmao. Was a little extreme... Unfortunately I didn't like the rims so I tossed them and went back to my gold wheels. I'll have another setup soon.

Re: 18" Rims on 5th gen lude

If I were you I wouldn't stretch if you tend to take corners fast. Went on a cruise through our local hills today with some and the rim on a buddy of mine's G35 ate his sidewall. He ran 225's on 9.5 18".
