Icon9 Idling problem self caused on accident

Just wanted to let everyone know that before the low rough idle to stalling or nearly stalling, fluctuating idle, i pushed my car shifting before redline and when i hit 3rd gear shifting to 4th i mistakenly shifted to 2nd gear, which obviously caused the car to jerk really hard and push the rpm pointer to the max rpms on the tachometer. Then my car stalled out and i started it up again and came to a complete stop then i noticed it was idling to low and it would stall out. My question is what parts did i mess up and i might have to replace that causes this rough low idle to sometimes fluctuating idles. Does the TPS take effect? Eversince i just been adjusting the cable since ive already cleaned the IACV and tightened The FITV.

Re: Idling problem self caused on accident

hahaha NICE you did the money shift!!

your valves most likely kissed your pistons and caused all sorts of havoc, good luck is all i gotta say.

do a compression test to see if you're only slightly fuked, or severely fuked.

LOL!!! do compression test it could be the valves or piston rings.. just get ready to buy a new engine

Re: Idling problem self caused on accident

What did you learn? Sounds like you made your valves and pistons meet. Kids and their shifting :) Hopefully it's something stupid, but prepare to buy a new engine. Good luck.

Re: Idling problem self caused on accident

i remember when i did that. exact same thing. only thing that happened to my engine was one of my intake valve bolts disappeared completely. might still be rolling around in my oil pan anyway, after i put a new one on an did a valve adjustment it was all good. so idk if a valve adjustment will fix the idle but its worth a shot. and a compression test. good luck dude!

Not sure. It drives fine, but the only problem is that sometimes itll idle low and rarely stall out, or rarely itll fluctuate.

I forgot to mention that the clutch gave out after that little stunt. Took it to a shop to find out that the flywheel was holding on by one bolt connected to the crankshaft, the other 7 was stripped off. We had to rethread new holes to put on the new bolts. Once everything was done it was and they said its driving good minus the idling. But i will do a compression test and a valve adjustment soon. Btw wat should the compressions be at on the compression test.

Another question i have is can valves, pistons, cylinders have an effect on misfires, or does spark plugs and things before it?
