Strange Misfire

ok, same problem as before, still not figured it out. wont rev past 3500rpms. cel comes on immediately. flashes sometimes. I changed the plugs, dizzy, new cap and rotor, wires. still missing. I upgraded to an accel 8140c coil, would run and die quickly after that, but it is about out of gas, probably the problem of why its starting and dying, but it had plenty of gas before when it would rev out to 3500. changed back to the old coil and its exactly the same as the new one. all this started at a roll start. could a bad ecu be the cause? i know for sure i have fire, i hear the fuel pump kick on, whats up with this thing? anyone had similar issues? could any random wire shorting out against the body burn up the ecu just at a roll start? If it was a bad ecu would i be able to see burnt or swelling capacitors? board looks fine. also im running the 290cc h22 injectors. would this cause an issue with the po6 ecu? can i switch them for the f23 ipt injectors without a resistor box?

http://htarchive.org/showthread.php?t=246121 -- a guy on this site suggest that if it wont rev past 3500 and the cel light comes on immediately then its a bad ecu. is that the case? can i simply ground the wire for the data link connector to pull codes?

Re: Strange Misfire

Where are the cel codes?

Did you even try to pull them to diagnose what is going on before you replaced all those parts?

Re: Strange Misfire

That's what happens when you think.

We're all lazy aholes that don't help anyone or know nothing.

How about you try searching where the diagnostic port is before asking.

Re: Strange Misfire

Cant use dianostic port, im obd1 now. I jumped d4 & d22. Got a code for bad injector. I checked the wiring at the ecu, number 4 has no power coming back to the ecu. Injector tested at 12ohms. could it still be bad?
