headlight questions

hey geys i have a 98 prelude with stock headlights. these things suck balls. i want brighter ones but i am confused on the HALO projector headlights.

do they need a HID kit or are they an OEM replacement with no modifications?

the reason why i ask is because all the websites i went to say they are direct replacement with no other modifications, but then it says that they carry the HID wiring kit for the headlights.

all i want is new headlights that are bright. can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: headlight questions

Yeah, look just a few topics below this one and you would have found a comparison of ebay Halo projectors vs Retrofits

ebay style halo vs retro headlight

Retrofits are a bit expensive to have done - but give you the best output vs anything on the market.

There are a few members on here that do the installation. It requires your original headlights to be sent out to whoever does it and they'll basically replace the internals. I suggest Brian - Prelude1897 I think his sn is on here? - someone correct me if i'm wrong on that

Re: headlight questions

i saw that thread but im not wanting to send out any headlights because i wouldnt be able to drive the lude until i get them back. doesnt make a ****ing lick of sense to me.

all i am asking about is do the projectors need a wiring kit, or are they direct replacement?

i.e., if i pay 300 for a pair of projectors, do i need anything else?

Most people get a spare set of headlights or a cheap ebay set to retrofit.

To answer your question:

plug and play unless it specifies that you need an HID kit... which is very unlikely

Re: headlight questions

If you want them to sign brighter than stock you need to buy hids for the projectors. It only takes Brian like a week to do retros if every thing is in stock. I has just the standard halogen bulbs in the halos and didn't care for the brightness of them. The ones on the halo VS retro thread have 6000k hids in them. With out bids the are direct plug and play no special wiring needed.

Re: headlight questions

I knew I was feeling my ears ring...Yea, I can definitely help out if you want a retrofit done, and yes I do have some loaner lights I can ship out to you while I retrofit your stock lights, that way you don't have any down time. If you're interested, just PM me and let me know
