Surprised

I was just on youtube searching for prelude videos, and my car is on youtube and it has almost 70000 views but one of the videos of my car you can see the odometer and it has 188000 kms and when i bought it said 120000, isnt that illegal to lower your kilometers?
this is the video anyways

Re: Surprised

Yes, it's illegal to roll back your mileage.

I think there's some loophole that allows you to roll back mileage if you have papers to prove that the motor has been rebuilt and work done to the car or something... idr exactly

The car looks familiar... did you get it off a member of the site?

Rolling it back just gives a false sense of security to the next owner - not knowing when/ if the maintenance was done and how to continue keeping track of it without having to do EVERYTHING all over again. Now we'll all know for future reference if you ever go to sell your car on here by the sounds of it - you may want to have your name changed lol

Re: Surprised

well i dont think its illegal anymore in Ottawa Canada, because the seller is supposed to provide the carfax history when they sell the car...Too bad i didnt ask for it, im so mad though because i checked on the car fax and in 2010 the car had 251000kms...i guess you learn from your mistaked

Re: Surprised

Generally you can get the roll back approved due to restoration works, however the amount of works required is more than just a simple engine rebuild. (And the rules are diffrent everywhere) Remember that the odo reading also marks the usage of mundane things like suspension bushings and washers, brake lines and other things that nobody ever considers.
