Smoke from Driver side

Pretty detailed post
had something really wierd happen to me about a hour ago ima be as detailed as possible so maybe someone here might give me some ideas as to what might be up with my car. i was driving home from the movies and it had rained and was still kinda drizziling i drive over a couple of puddles but nothin like sinkholes. i pulled into my girlfriends complex and as i was going over a speedbump a small cloud of smoke came out of the driver side of my what seemed to be the area between where the left windshield wipers is. just came out and left didnt keep smoking. i still drove the car up to her apartment didnt turn it off at all checked it but nothin unusual. drove it home about 10 mins or so away got down and spent a good half hour looking everywhere and NOTHIN i dont see any more smoke. i checked the oil and it obviously smelled a little burned but because the engine had been on i didnt see any leaks, no oil leaving from around the engine. idk if to move the car and risk it being something bad and it getting worse. could it have been the rain that caused it. something with the motor? i understand this is a huge post but ima kinda out of ideas. idk if it matters or not but i uploaded a pic of the oil after wiping it on a towel and i dont see it black, burnt or anything. any thoughts, ideas, or help is really appreciated.

Could have been the water from the puddle getting on your hot rotors/brake pads? It really depends on how big the puddles were lol.
I would still check for leaks. Make sure you check coolant lines too. My heater hose had a small hole a while back which caused me to see a spontaneous cloud of smoke every once in a while.

that crossed my mind, water hitting the rotors but cant be really sure. really check the car today with it on and i couldnt see anywhere from were smoke can be coming out of. no burnt smell from anywhere. where might i find these coolant lines?

Re: Smoke from Driver side

Check the Haynse manual for the location of all coolant lines. Sounds like you have a leak of some sort and it's burning a bit.

It's very doubtful that water on hot rotors would cause a noticeable amount of smoke - to test it, go driving around like you would on a normal day and go home, hit the rotor with some water and you'll see the minimal amount of smoke that is produced when a hot rotor is hit by water in the rain.

Re: Smoke from Driver side

sounds like some water hit something how and produced a little steam to me unless it smelled like some kind of smoke

Re: Smoke from Driver side

I'm sure it was just water hitting the oil pan/block. Considering the fact that you're lowered too, you're motor is probably not even a foot away from the pavement. Take it out next when its dry out, check then. When water hits a hot engine it will smoke. Pretty bad too.
