High Output Alternator not working?

I wanted to see if I can get some help.

I installed a High Output alternator from the company Ohio Generator. Output on paper says max amps 194. Anyway, I kept the factory cables in place and added a 4 gauge wire directly from the new alternator to a new battery (kinetik). I also upgraded the negative cables (0 gauge) from the battery to the frame and body. When i went to start the car it starts fine, so I took a voltmeter and measured the volts at the battery but it was only 12. 3 with the car on, so I bacame suspicious, turned the car off and the battery was resting at 13.4. I suspected the new HO alternator was defective but I'm having a hard time believing it would since they test them before shipping and it was very well packaged to be damaged. So I did the old school test of having the car on and removing the battery cable and the car died instantly. I also ran the car a parked at higher rpm and measured and same issue with the volts not increasing. Did I miss something in the installation? The alternator was shipped with a quality control test sheet saying it passed.

Re: High Output Alternator not working?

Yes, it was installed correctly. When I posted this I was thinking that maybe the cars factory electrical system or ECU was somehow preventing it from working correctly. I took it off today and had it tested at local autoparts, it failed. Was only pumping out 11.4 volts. I'm returning it to the manufacture.
