custom hood i made my self (want some imput plz)

so i wanna know what people think about it!!! the scoops are real and do really work not just stuck on for looks, this was all done out of scrap. the hood was the original that a truck had backed up on top of

my car is rear ended so if anyone knows anyone that has rear quarter panels, trunk, bumper, the inner trunk that they are parting out plz let me know i'm wanting to find a front end wrecked one that i could just use the remainder of the shell or cut the back off

i also need passenger door speaker cover

Re: custom hood i made my self (want some imput plz)

I don't like it... I could see how the one on the passenger side might me useful if you have a short ram intake but other then that its just weird. Maybe if both the vents faced the same direction.

Like twok said, to each his own.

I'm personally not digging it; however, I do like how mostly stock looks best. And what does my opinion matter its your car!

Re: custom hood i made my self (want some imput plz)

i admire the craftsmenship. and the one on the passenger side looks like it would help out for cooling or for a shortram. Im not feelin the driver side vent. But is does look like a profesional did it.

Good work, but should've spent the time/money on the rear end

should have kept it stock man, you do have a talent indeed so props on that. I don't understand when people even paint the middle of their hood black or gray and the exterior stock..

Re: custom hood i made my self (want some imput plz)

well thanks for the input, the only reason i did it is cause i had the extra stuff to do it and i had already started it before the car got wrecked the car was originaly a show car i had bought it and basically rebuilt the whole car and painted it, the body was torn to **** this hood is the old one that a truck had backed up on top of... the idea of the scoops is the passenger side forces air straight into the air filter and the driver side is basically to increase the flow throughout the motor compartment. (if you have alot of air coming it you have to have somewhere for it to go!!) it's basic engineering, thanks for the input i will put up some pics of what the car looked like before it got wrecked "when it was used for shows not a daily driver"

Re: custom hood i made my self (want some imput plz)

I'd cut them out and replace them with NACA ducts. Would look better and provide much less airflow disruption.

Something like: McKinney Corp. Race Cars - Naca & Outlet Ducts

understood. how about this? instead of the hood scoop on the driver side how about a dip covered by some wiring?

I have to jump on the bandwagon here if they were facing the same way you might have something. But then again its your ride dude if you like it pimp it its not like I'm gonna ride in it.

Re: custom hood i made my self (want some imput plz)

Not diggin the hood. But if you wanna get technical on the air direction n flow. The Pass one to force air into the intake is understandable but ur reason for the driver is jus odd IMO. If you wanted more engine air to flow out you could've simply bought some washers from Home Depot n add them to the brackets holding your hood. So that when the hood is closed that the back end of the hood closer to the window angles higher to open up the exit flow of the engine heat.

That's jus me but yea to each it's own on that note.

Glad you had fun experimenting though!!

It's great creativity, and like everyone else I see how the passenger side would be helpful, but it reminds me of warts on a pretty face; I can't look past them. Way to fab tho, not something I'm even thoughtful enough to envision!

I think it would look better if the vents were more shallow and long, they are just to abrupt .

Not a fan of the scoops.

Like someone else said the pass might be ok for short ram.

Looks like you put some work into it though.
