New axle question

My cv boot is ripped on my passenger side axle on my 97 base prelude. Any suggestions on where to buy one? And does SH or non-SH make a difference?

Re: New axle question

dont do the boot kit it's a waste of time and money just get an axle from the nearest import shop.

i've done boots several times and everytime i mean everytime it will last about 3000 miles and the cv joint will break or you wont make it 10 miles down the road and have to buy a new one anyways.

also don't go the cheaper route and get a rebuilt.

SH axles are the same for base models. I did a H23a vtec swap and used my old SH axles with no issues..

Re: New axle question

What about the autozone or o'riley shafts? Those any good?

Duralast from autozone says it has lifetime warranty...so if it breaks you can just take it back and swap it. I think its rebuild though.

Re: New axle question

My shafts came from Orielly's and they have a life time warranty. They were $10 more each because they were new and not re-manufactured. Also they had no core charge(the real reason i got them).

after looking up the axles on orielly's im kinda inclined towards buying it from there unfortunately in miami there none, compared to a autopart or autozone which are all around so a exchange on the warranty or returning the core isnt really a issue at all.
