NEED HELP!! Snapped off distributor mount!

okay so first off im an idiot on how this even broke in the first place. But bascially the distributor has 3 spots to be secured down. The top right where it bolts to the head actually broke right off the head itself. Ive been told its called the cam bearing caps. However my automotive teacher said that i can not just buy a new one and throw it on cause they are all measured to each cam perfectly. What should i do? cause literally right now im FUC*** and cant drive. Any help would be appreciated on what i should do. Also, do you think it would work if i took that out and had it heli arc or welded back on? Please help!

Re: NEED HELP!! Snapped off distributor mount!

I broke one of the timing belt cam caps and simply bought another one and swapped it out with no side-effects at all. Just make sure your buying one that has the bearing journal in good condition.

you are suppose to measure, cam caps are like main caps according to helms you will have to measure the journals, the safest thing would be to get the cap and get it align honed, which will cost u a butt load, or get a used but decent conditioned head. thats if you wana do it by the book. or u can jus buy the part and slap it on and hope for the best which chances are it will work.
