fork pivot ball

Here's the problem....

Ive been reading the "no more clutch problem threads" like a freaking wiz. Still haven't found the answer... Has anyone ever replaced the fork pivot ball without dropping the tranny... I know its the pivot ball because I replaced m/c s/c and all steel clutch lines and even that weird circle thing that has two clutch lines in it. checked for leaks and pumped for days... Still no pressure... Took off the s/c and wiggled the clutch fork and it was like shaking hands with a 5 year old.... doesnt twist but moves up down left and right with no effort. Any pics or any any tips?

If you don't have enough time to use capital letters, then you don't have time to do a swap.

Re: fork pivot ball

bumper? nahh

radiator; IF you can remove the fans without removing the rad that'll prolly be alot easier than draining the coolant, and might give you enough room.

Lol sure... I really can't find the ball that it pivots on "maybe I'm just stupid" but I stuck the 17mm open ended wrench in there and nothing would catch

Re: fork pivot ball

just went down to my basement and took these pics on my spare tranny. hopefully these will help;

first one is from inside the tranny. square hole to the left is where the clutch fork/boot goes, and there's the ball with the 17mm hex.

a pic from outside the hole, of the ball

hope that helps

Re: fork pivot ball

How do you get the fork to move when the clutch is not making it move

Re: fork pivot ball

Cuz the clutch doesn't make the fork move, its the other way around.
It goes; pedal/master cylinder -> slave cyl -> fork -> TOB -> pressure plate.
