Cylinder 4 Misfire

So I got a CEL today. Again. I got it last week too, but it turned off by itself before I could go diagnose it. Well, this time I went straight to Autozone when it turned on. They said it was a cylinder 4 misfire that caused it. But again, within 24 hours, the light went away.

Any ideas as to what could be going on?
And what does a misfire even mean? How do I fix it?

Re: Cylinder 4 Misfire

Misfire is when the engine misfires (not fire) in a cylinder.

You should ask for the code to be sure they're telling you the correct information. When ever i misfired it never went away I had to clear it. You should pull your spark plug and check for damage, check the boot, etc before buying any parts.
