pcggattnc's build thread

First off sorry for the pictures of pictures. Its all I had. And donít worry about the date that the pic is taken even though it is the correct date. And yes im a unc basketball fan.

So the story goes that one day my 66 mercury comet was finally sold and I could finally get a good down payment on my beautiful 2000 pearl white 5 speed. I baught it from a personal owner and he baught it bran new and took very good care of it. So u can imagine the condition.
[IMG][/IMG]
I love this car. It was mid November 04 when I finally got to drive her home. She stayed stock for a few months then I had to put some shoes on her.
[IMG][/IMG]
Donít mind that the rim is jacked and that I have cross drilled rotors. The rotors were the fifth mod I did to the vehicle after the Neuspeed strut bar, the AEM short ram, and the yellow top optima., But let me tell you what. These Tenzo R Passion Five replicas with my stock caps were hurtin feelings in 04. I later polished the valve cover sanding by hand for about a week , after aircraft stripping it of course. Also removing the full intake box system and heat shield.
[IMG][/IMG]
After reading alot of magazines and being in the body shop industry I decided to buy a body kit. I looked around for a while for a kit that wasnít outrageous looking. I finally stumbled upon the buddyclub2 kit that had just came out. Bought the full kit with carbon fiber extras and had my good friend Jason, owner of unlimited auto body spray it up.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

After the kit, the stock muffler would not suffice for my ricy taste of the time (though my style is my own) it had to go. Replacing it was the ricy big a$$ Reactive tip. Though I beat out my cat into a homemade straight pipe thus giving me the power to skirp third gear.
[IMG][/IMG]
Oh yea, I forgot to mention I removed the stock wing after kitting it out cuz it looked funny. Not only paying attention to the outside of the vehicle I was also tinkering here and there with whatever could do cheply without impairing the vehicle. well, not that cheap.

I was driving along one night and there was a cut out in the road about 3 inches deeploosely filled in with gravel and wider and longer than the vehicle and no cones or warning signs. Im driving 35 mph when I hit this humongous pot hole and it blows both rims front end sides and rear all in one. Though on the vehicle they were beyond repair and had to be towed because the boot didnít come with 2 spares. after a police report stating there was road work there and had no cones or sighns on sight I had good reason for the city to help me to repair my vehicle . they were gratefull enough to do so and I began crafting a new kit. Same design but to go 3 tone through the jams.
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Yes if you look close enough you can see a APExI AFC V-TEC controller with my custom cut sheetmetal painted to match. All hidden in the glove box. Stealth mode.
By then I had time to mess with the engine bay a little for show and painted the spark plug cover and loomed it to death.
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]
I finally ran her from 58,000 miles to 188,000 miles in 6 years, by now gaskets were leaking. Smoke was coming from the ehaust and from under the car due to oil leaking on the flex pipe. . Time to replace the motor. Nah I changed my mind and decide to rebuild it. If I had only known how long it would be before I got to drive her again idk i probably not rebuild it. And just replace it with a blue top tuned.

Re: not a gaylude

First one is your knock sensor (part # 30530-P5M-013), it is not cheap, and the second one is your water temperature sensor (part # 37870-PK2-005). Glad to see this is coming along nicely. Keep up with the updates and tell me if you have any more questions

Re: pcggattnc's build thread

So I went to the machine shop and I was looking at the motor and I noticed that the dust shield hits the s2 cam gear adjustment screws. So I started to fix the problem. Jw I remember seeing a clear dust shield b4. But if not ill be running like this.
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]
now i just need some high temp gasket maker/ or high temp plastic adhesion epoxy or somthing to fix the rainbows on the outside of the sheild.

Re: pcggattnc's build thread

. Oh yea I customized the valve cover about 5 months ago, I spent an hour here and there after work for about a week or 2. I removed the 2 cast marks towards the front left. Removed the right wall to see the gears, the back edge (bodyline) that runs long ways , and removed the letters (ghosted after polishing). i need to redo the top, cuz i f-d up and left it in my blazer and it got scratched ugh. o well its always somthing else.
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] this is after i took the dust sheil off to fab it up. [IMG][/IMG]

Re: pcggattnc's build thread

So I was looking @ the lower dust sheilsd and I don’t remember there being a gap between. Do I need a gasket, or is it being jared by something that’s not letting it fit tight, or do I need some high temp gasket maker for it???? [IMG][/IMG]

Re: pcggattnc's build thread

So I also got some goodies…… all parts below are fabed by “spoolin performance”. And im impressed.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG] so i had three choices for the AR and i ordered the biggest being .82 but how can i tell thats its the .82 instead of the ,63. im curious enough to send it back, cuz the box says just like this on the outside:
GT3582R
.63 A/R Tial
Ported
Comp.
does this mean he sent me the smaller size or is this just the tial turbine housing size. im worried cuz it was expencive and i want what i payed for/ordered. im not a turbo expert please help.

Re: pcggattnc's build thread

About your lower dust shield, yes there is a gasket that goes around there. I do not know about the turbo, I am sure you can take it to a shop and ask them, they should be able to tell you or tell you how to figure out yourself for free... Where did you get your exhaust manifold from?

Edit: A .63 AR will give you better response and more torque, an .82 AR won't really give you that low end torque and will only be for high RPM power. If I were you and they gave you the .63 I would keep it and just ask for a refund for the price difference

Re: pcggattnc's build thread

well i know there wasnt a price difference, i got to choose. the tial turbine housing was an upcharge but i got a reduced price when i returned the original.
im wondering why the dust sheild gasket didnt come with the h22 gasket set. its weird.
i shoudl have the customized upper dust sheild done soon.
i got these set of parts from SpoolinPerformance.com
