CV axle Input

so my cv axles have really just gotten worst since i last posted and like i said i still need a couple more months before i can pull of my 5 speed swap. if i buy my cv axles now and change them will i need different ones for the 5 speed swap? or is there no such thing a diffrent set of cv axles from automatic to manual? any input helpful and sorry if its such a beginners question.

btw looking into buying these

Re: CV axle Input

Look at the part numbers honda has for the axles for the manual and the auto, if they are the same then you are good to go. I don't know why they wouldn't be the same but look it up anyways

Hmmm, maybe like honda parts unlimited or majestic honda or something, maybe even like rock auto, or autozone. Could be in the online manual lol, just start looking places lol

Re: CV axle Input

Looked up the parts in auto and manual and both have to the part number. But no one here is 100 percent sure? Anyone whos done a swap had to change them?

Re: CV axle Input

your intermediate shaft connects your driver side cv shaft to the transmission. does not need to be changed with the cv shafts. however, since you say you're doing the swap, you will need to change it with the tranny. the intermediate shaft between the auto and 5spd have different part numbers. if something has the same part number they are the same part and are interchangeable.. that is unless another number distinguishes their difference. in hondas case, their part number takes precedence. if another manufacturer makes the same part, it might designate a manufacturers part number to differentiate it from another manufacturers part and their own parts. but if the "part number" is the same, they are identical and interchangeable.

thanks guys went around looking up some more info and im pretty certain theres no difference between a auto's or manual's CV axles. the intermediate shaft will need to be changed though thats a fact.
