So I traded my lude...

and bought a white 5 speed SH
My car has 88k on it and this new one, which may seem like a bad idea, has 110k, minor mods, nice tires, lip, but the downfall to it is it needs a new front passenger quarter panel and it has a salvage tittle from Katrina, no hydrolock or interior flooding, I was going to plan on doing a swap in mine, but why when this one has pretty much everything I was going to do to mine.
Its a little ruff, but I figure this is atleast worth investing money into instead of my soon to go auto.

Too think, I almost bought an s13 240sx with sr20det on 14psi pushing 11.6 in the quarter mile and a full built roll cage and suspension for drifting..

Re: So I traded my lude...

Also, my Lude had an oil leak and tranny was starting to give me problems in the first to second gears, I wanna know if this was a good-fair buy, I sold mine for 5k and bought this for 3500.

Re: So I traded my lude...

Yeah but it wasn't practical, the engine had some blow by, no interior, battery was sitting relocated where the passenger seat was, no ac, nothing, just isn't something I don't think a girl would enjoy to sit in, especially in our hot muggy summers. I don't mind, but interior would be nice, it had no carpet, roll cage, rough paint, full built motor, 17 by 8 inch tires, megan coilovers, new tie rods and endlinks, buddy club seat, straight pipe from the motor, pushing 350 hp with 362tq on 14psi boost.

Exactly, aye, I'd love to have that and rebuild the piston seals and rehone the cylinder walls, but its just too much. If I wasn't worried about having money for college this semester, I'd have both.

Re: So I traded my lude...

education >> all.

my buddy has that exact s13 that he drifts with, roll cage and all, and that thing is an all-out race car. there is no way in hell you could reliably and practically DD that 240 while in college. which is why that's his weekend race car, and his DD in college was a civic SI.

Where is this s13??!?! Lol

I say ya done good getting rid of the auto. Second to cancer rust that is one pf the tougher things to fix. Little TLC and you'll have a sweet car.

Me and my dad got into a big arguement, he basically tried screwing me out of the car, I found the silver one and just let it go, then when I got the auto, I wasn't happy, now that I have some cash and being forced to switch cars soon, I'd have to choose inbetween an ek H22 hatch, this lude, and a 96 240 non hatch along with the S13 that was above, I think I got the best deal on this lude and it just needs about 500 worth in body work and I'll be straight, maybe some new tires and I can start going at it with the motor, clutch, etc.

I think you made a good trade considering everything. I just hope you have some money to get that thing fixed, its gonna be pretty costly. Correct me if im wrong but i dont think that lip can be repaired..

Good job getting rid of the auto though, you can now be a true enthusiast.

The lip is slighly damaged, I can buff it out and repaint it, most the damage is above it.

Re: So I traded my lude...

The hatch wasn't even painted, it was just primed, gutted to ****, but ran good.
I'm ordering fenders in the next week, its going to sit in the driveway for a good 3 weeks while I start prepping money for fenders, bumper, dent in door, painting valve cover, tailights, calipers, and stuff of that nature.

I almost bought that Prelude, but then my common sense kicked in and told me I don't need two ludes with body damage, lol.

Back to square one I go, the body damage really isn't bad, I can fix it and spray it in about a days work, after that, dropping stock intake resonator, getting Depo's with black housing, and new Spec-D replica fogs.

It had two seats, bare minimum dash, two buddy club racing seats, no A/C aswell, and relocated battery with wires all over it.

Im not trying to be mean at all or anything, but if you don't like Ludes, why you on here? I mean, as the title says, we're a community of "Honda Prelude Tuners and Enthusiasts". Don't take this statement, the wrong way...I'm just kind of curious there. Maybe I misunderstood what you said?

Dude, you might be careful saying that. I know a lot of guys with autos who are more of a "true enthusiast" as you state. One of them being one of the Mods here, Beaker. Try to tell him he's not a true enthusiast. Try to tell me that Im not a "true enthusiast(or convincing any of my friends that Im not). Try telling my dude Remzo he's not an enthusiast. Driving a stick is more fun than driving in an auto, but for some, its what God gave them. Its what was put in front of them. So they ran with it. Driving a stick doesn't mean you're more of an enthusiast than those who drive autos. Sure, its more likely that if I encounter an stick and automatic, w/o seeing or talking to the drivers, Im going to guess that the one that drives the stick might be a little more into his car. But, I could be completely wrong. The guy(or girl) with the auto could come out and amaze me with what he knows about cars, all the meets he's been to, what he's done to his car that I can't see, etc. Here, we're not only looking at cars. We're talking with fellow enthusiasts. So what I'm getting at is, don't assume all those who drive auto's aren't into ludes as much as those who drive 5 speeds. In this guy's case, I'd say he had definitely has quite a love of preludes, whether he has an auto or stick.

Its a little ruff, but I figure this is atleast worth investing money into instead of my soon to go auto.

Too think, I almost bought an s13 240sx with sr20det on 14psi pushing 11.6 in the quarter mile and a full built roll cage and suspension for drifting..
Looks aright dude...But there is definitely some work to do, and I wish you Godspeed on that. As others have said, it looks expensive, but in the end it will be more than worth it. Oh, and white ludes FTW.

I'm shocked he hasnt been on here to post yet. Of all the people on this forum, he can make you feel like a complete idiot and still not answer whatever question you posted at the same time. Beaker is my hero.

Re: So I traded my lude...

I found a crack in the crank pulley today.
Got a replacement, with a seal.
Is this going to be a headache? Any advice when doing this or finding someone to do it?

Also, he said there was an oil leak in the distributor seal, but they aren't that expensive, so why keep pouring oil in if its something as easy as a 25 dollar seal????

..Something isn't right.
