Floor Mats and Other Opinions

This will be my first post on the site since joining last week. I'm not new to Honda, but I am new to the Prelude model. I seemed to have lucked up and found a 2000 Prelude SH with low miles and in seemingly great mechanical shape. What I need to know is where can I get some decent floor mats for the car since the interior is in such good condition? Also, one of the few aftermarket mods I'm considering doing is a set of HID headlights and I was wondering who made the best headlight and HID setups? I'm also considering an exhaust system and wanted to get some opinions there too. I've had lots of experience with HKS and Greddy exhaust systems in my WRX and the 2000 Civic SI that I had recently lost due to someone's stupidity. What seems to work best with the Prelude though is what I want to know? Great site by the way, lots of good information... thanks for any help!!!

Re: Floor Mats and Other Opinions

Normally I'd tell you to go and look this stuff up yourself, because it's your car, and you should be the one building it, not us. But I'm bored right now.

For floormats....the first thought that came into my head was, "did he seriously just ask where he could fine floormats?" I dunno man, Walmart might be a good bet. If you want some more Honda inspired floormats, PasswordJDM.com might have something with a honda logo on it for your feet.

For exhausts....ugh. First off, DO NOT buy a DC header. They're not worth the money, nor is any header under $1,000 really. As for cat back exhausts, it depends on what sound you like. Check out brands such as Apexi and Tanabe.

Re: Floor Mats and Other Opinions

I have OEM honda floormats. you can find them in part out threads, and on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-01...Q5fAccessories
I have greddy evo II exhaust. best bet on exhaust is to find prelude videos on youtube w/ different brand exhausts. really depends on the sound you're going for.

Rsr exmag exhaust, best sound hands down. Had it on my integra, zero rice. If you can't afford it just try and find something that's twin loop. The sound not only comes from the muffler but also the resonator, quality exhaust system have one. Also remember the prelude does not respond that well to bolt ons, the power gains are negligible on there own. Many people will disagree after spending too much money and expecting too much, but dynos don't lie.

A Hytech replica can be had for $300, and in my opinion is the best performance vs cost header around.

In my opinion a custom exhaust is going to give you the best results for the price. If you go with the header above I would get some 2.5in, stainless, mandrel bent piping and a vibrant muffler. I wouldn't go for 3in unless you didnt care about the sound as much.

DDM makes a great HID kit. Ive had mine for over a year and have NEVER had any problems. And to make it even better I only paid $35.

Solid advice here ^

Hytech replica header is best bang for buck. I have one with a custom 2.5" ss mandrel bent piping and vibrant muffler and it was a solid addition to the lude imo. I also got a 8" flexpipe and magnaflow cat. I didn't get a resonator and in retrospect I wish I would have.

DDM is well-known for quality hid kit's for a very fair price. When it comes time to get the header head over to preludeonline.com and look for group buy section.

The OP got hooked up with some knowledge on this thread.

Re: Floor Mats and Other Opinions

hey just wondering but for the DDM hid kit, not sure which one to order for my lude, there are the Raptor HID kit, DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast (35W or 55W). Whic wattage would be the better choice so i dont melt any wires.
