Icon8 My 2000 sh is sick... NEED HELP!

Hey! i was driving back on the freeway from recording in some studios with the band and my check engine light and ATTS light went on. I took it to the mechanic the next day and this is what they said

-Code p0420 for cat converter below efficents (bank 1)

-Alternator is marginal, voltage drops to 10.40 volts, etc... after start/charging test

-Time to replace spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor worn,

-Valve cover gasket is leaking and possible front seals leaking

....

so they want $900 for the cat fix and 400 for basically everything else.

im looking to fix as much as i can myself and thus save money. im going to go pickup spark plugs and wires today, my questions are:

1) cheapest/best way to fix the cat converter problem?!!?

2) valve cover gasket and front seals, where to get them, how hard to do and should i fix that before the spark plugs? (am i replacing what holds the spark plugs with the gasket kit?)

1. get a new cat converter, should be way cheaper than $900, 80-132 depdning if it's high flow.

2.easy to get, ask local parts store or check hondapartsforcheap.com or majestichonda.com, if you are pulling the valve cover and assuming your S.plugs are bad, may as well change them since you'll have your valve cover off anyways.

I read on another form you can use household bleach to clean the cat. make sure you rinse the cat with distilled water after the procedure. Search for bleach clean cat or something to that effect.

just buy a new cat. you can get them for quite cheap. and if needed, have them put on at a muffler shop for about an hours labor. get the gaskets at the dealer, they shouldnt be that much even there, and anyone with basic knowledge of tools will be able to do it. id replace the plugs, etc after you do the gasket, but it really doesnt make a difference

magnaflo direct fit for ca is about 350$ ebay

valve cover gasket id say get it from majestic or any other honda dealer online

all of this labor is easy, do it yourself. i would advise using an impact ratchet for the cat though those things like to seize

X2 and or make sher you lubricate the bolts when loosening up. I put in my whole Greddy exhaust system and when I was loosing the bolts of the pope to the catalyst I broke one of the bolts. (DUmmazz but theres 3 so I'm sher I'm fine) It's easy just jack up your car put it on stands get some lubricant for loosening bolts.

if the plugs and wires you bought arent ngk return them now. only use ngk ignition parts with our cars, they only like ngk and nake sure you use the iridiums theyre oem spec

atts will not affect mileage in any way, if anything you get better beacause it forces you to drive a stick.

where in cali you at? i might be able to help with some of this stuff
