Icon5 Fair price

Hey everyone,

I am going to buy a 1997 H22 with 162K miles on it. It has no cosmetic or mechanical problems that the owner knows about, but I will take it to a mechanic before buying. What would a fair price for this car be? Also, how many miles do you think it has left?

Thanks!

Re: Fair price

What color. Type-SH? I picked up my Prelude for $3700 with 170km (Canadian car) and it's a 1999 Prelude Type-SH in pearl white.

Re: Fair price

It's milano red. The paint job is a year old. It's not an SH.

Re: Fair price

It's a 5 speed. There was no accident. I think it was just faded and he wanted a better color.

Re: Fair price

Vehix report.

What does KBB say about the value?

Don't buy if its an auto, unless you plan on changing it to a 5spd.

Re: Fair price

So your saying it was a previous color? Generally, when a car is repainted a different color the value of it goes down. Then again, it all depends on the paint job itself.

Re: Fair price

I saw a Prelude 1999 ,151 thousand of miles, for 4000$.
Will need to change the windshield, which will cost like 125$ (according to the dealer guy?)

Is that fair?

Re: Fair price

I got my 2001 EBP Base Auto for $5100. Super clean leather interior, 101,000 miles. I carfax'd it just to get the peace of mind and make sure that it was never in any accidents. Came with two JL's W6's, Focal Components speakers, and two JL Slash amps.
I'm very happy with my purchase, even though it's auto. I don't drive too wildly, it's not given me a single problem yet.
