Alarm system

Sup guys. I'm in the market right now to get a alarm system. I want my car to be abit more safe and if I hear that alarm go off, be ready to beat some @$$!
I'm think of getting this one AutoPage C3-RS730-LCD (c3rs730lcd) 2-way, 4-Channel Vehicle I like the features it has but I'm not so sher about the auto start. I've heard some bad things but even then I think it's prettty cool especially when you don't have time to turn on your car and warm up when it's cold as heck outside. I'm mainly lookking for a car alarm system that works good and has good sensors, loud siren, keyless entree (trunk lock and unlock) and the auto start is extra.

Does anyone recommend a certain brand of alarm systems they have experience with?

Re: Alarm system

You know the auto start only works with an auto tranny right? I would think you would, since I've seen you around here quite a bit and you seem to know your stuff. But, dude, thanks for the find also. Im might be trying to get the stock alarm system because its a heck of a lot cheaper than the Viper, but shoot...124? Im sold. Summer is only 2 days away for me, and then I'll be back in Atlanta and ready to do some more stuff to the lude. I never knew that Viper was so overpriced...I thought that was just what the industry set. So thank you!! And yea, if you try to install it yourself, and are successful, DO A WRITE UP And if not, just post up what went wrong.

Re: Alarm system

I had a Viper 5902. Hated the key cuz it seemed so light and cheap and I had to charge it every week. I replaced it with a new CompuStar Pro. Thing lasts forever and I've never had any issues with it at all. Mind you these are all autostarters as well so my Viper had issues with autostarting which was why I pulled it out.

Re: Alarm system

too bad some electronic geek on here doesn't do a tutorial about installing alarms.

You ever wonder why a good alarm (DEI Group, Compustar, etc) costs a bit more than say... an Autostart Brand alarm system?
Think of it like a E-bay replacement air intake vs a Real cold air intake. -- just sayin

Like I said. I thought it was a piece of junk and my installer said he hates installing them because they're harder to install apparently. I went with CompuStar because i trust that brand and I had a lot of friends with manual cars that got that autostarter installed without an issue.

When it comes to the safety of your car, I don't think you can be too careful..

Also, there are some remote starts that do work for manual transmissions, you just have to always remember to leave it in neutral.

Yup. Your car can't autostart in a gear anyways. For Viper you need you have the car on, press the brake, pull the ebrake, let go, push any button on the remote, remove the keys but your car will still be running, exit the car and close your doors then it will set to autostart. With CompuStar its about the same thing except your car will stay on when u remove the keys with the brake and ebrake steps.

I'm going to look into that brand. Hopefully it's not to pricey. Yeah viper I don't really like there alarm systems and there radar detectors suck.

Yeah seriously.

I've done some research on the brand and it has better costumer ratings than Viper alarm systems but I won't know this fer sher until I get one myself.

Yes there is you have to park your car in neutral and put the parking brake on. If you leave it in 1st gear it can launch off.

I ordered this unit yesterday. Since my car won't be running for a while, I'll probably put it in my truck. If I like it, I'll order another for the lude later. I'll let you guys know.
