P R E L U D E Lettering Removal

What is the best way to go about removing the PRELUDE emblem on the back bumper? Won't it leave like a shadow sort of thing if i just take it off? How would i do this without leaving a shadow

You could burn em off with a blowtorch. Shouldn't affect your paint....

Re: P R E L U D E Lettering Removal

Use a heat gun to melt the adhesive on the back of the letters and they'll slide right off.
Don't hold it too close to your ride though..

I used a hairdryer and dental floss, you can't even tell it was there to begin with.

Sorry for the second post but why the hell would you want to remove them?! I would give up every badge on my car BUT the Prelude.

Re: P R E L U D E Lettering Removal

Heat and dental floss is the trick. There CAN be some ghosting, there are ways to get rid of it though. It's one of the first things I did on my SH. A clean shaved ass is always shmexy.

Pick it like a booger. Goo gone gets rid of the leftovers.

dental floss and hair dryer, goo gone to clean up the adhesive. those are the combined methods I would use. all sound advice.

SH's never came with the PRELUDE lettering on the back bumper, only bases did.

On the 5th gens anyway.

LIES. Pics or it didn't happen lol

IDK, mine does not have that lettering, and my buddies base did, so I assumed it was a base thing.

just because yours doesn't have it, doesn't mean all SH's didn't. don't assume, you know where that leads.

ALL 5th gens from the factory had the prelude lettering in the back bumper, usdm, EDM, JDM whatever.

havik I bet your car had the back bumper replaced, wether you know it or not. Body shops don't like reinstalling that lettering. Either that, or the previous owner removed it.

I had already come to the same conclusion after he first replied to my post, I was attempting to gracefully accept defeat with thinly veiled humor.

...didn't work.

Let your car sit in the sun for a few hours while you drink a beer or 5... Then just go out and pull'em off.

I didn't have to use any adhesive removal or heat gun, just quick and simple.
