clockspring install

Does anyone know how to replace the clockspring in the steering wheel? My horn and cruise control never worked, either does the water spray too.

Is there a DIY for the clockspring, or can someone walk me through it?

Re: clockspring install

If you can't find a DIY on here, perhaps check Youtube. Also, on Dorman Products.com, down on the lower left there is a place titled Installation Videos and there are a few vids of Clock Spring Install. Probably is not being installed in a Prelude, but may help you get going in the right direction. Good Luck!

Re: clockspring install

the clock spring has 5 revolutions to it. spin it all the way one way then 2 1/2 times back to center it. there should be three maybe four bolts that hold it on. its really easy peasy. you will need a steering wheel puller and a 10 mill socket and maybe a philips screwdriver. big note. disconnect your battery for 3 minutes before starting this. after that, there are three access panels on the wheel. under is the srs clip which is a locking collar that you push while pulling the harness. the ones on the sides are for the airbag. btw if you connect the battery and turn the key without the airbag installed it will store an srs code in the module.
